Comment : I really wanted this to be a good experience, but I left feeling pretty frustrated and honestly a little uneasy.

I brought my 2018 Dodge Journey in for a check engine light and an AC issue (passenger side blowing hot). From the start, there wasn?t much communication about diagnostic fees, and I was later presented with multiple charges that were never clearly explained or approved upfront.

What bothered me most is that the main issue I came in for ? the oil pressure code ? wasn?t actually diagnosed. I was told they could only pull generic codes because Dodge has things ?locked,? which didn?t give me much confidence that we were getting to the root of the problem.

Then I was quoted around $8,000 and 30 hours of labor for the AC. That just didn?t sit right with me, especially since the symptoms were only on one side. I even called my warranty company to ask about labor expectations, and they told me that around 10 hours would be considered on the high end for that type of repair and recommended I get a second opinion.

To make it more confusing, when I picked up my car, both sides were blowing cold again.

I completely understand that shops need to be paid for their time, and I don?t mind paying for good, clear work. I just didn?t feel like I got answers or a level of care that matched the price I was being quoted.

At the end of the day, I left without a diagnosis for my main concern and feeling like I needed a second opinion before doing anything major.

I?m sure others may have had better experiences, but I would personally recommend asking a lot of questions and possibly getting another opinion before moving forward with big repairs.

Comment : It can be really scary and intimidating to have car problems as a woman, especially when you move across the country away from your support system. But Z?s Car Care is an excellent option if you are in need. I commute to work about an hour away 4 days a week, so my car is my life line. I was driving to work last week when my car started to lurch and not accelerate correctly. I panicked and kept going to work because I was only 5 minutes away at this point. I knew something was wrong though, so I went to an oil change first, but as soon as I pulled out of the oil change place, the car started lurching again and not accelerating. I called my boss and the recommended me to a shop that was close by, Z?s Car Care. We called and they said I could come by immediately and they would take a look. They were able to provide me with a loaner vehicle so I could still make it to work and they were so helpful and understanding as I was facing the reality that this will be an expensive fix. They researched multiple options for a new motor for me and tried to help me in any way they could. Unfortunately, I was unable to afford the fix even though they made every effort to present a cost effective option. I appreciate everything they did to help and would highly recommend them for services and repairs if you live in the Hillsboro area!

Comment : The owners, Robert and Jenny, were there when I dropped off my car. Jenny drove me home while I waited for my car to be fixed. Robert picked me up the next day and brought me back so I could pick up my car Their customer service is exceptional. I was referred to Z's by long time locals and they did not disappoint.
