Highly NOT recommended for AC service

I came here for a basic AC recharge. The mechanic vacuumed and filled the system with the engine OFF. When I politely pointed out that proper procedure is to charge the system with the engine ON and AC at max, he dismissed it and said:

“I’ve been doing this for 30 years, and you trying to say how to do my job, have a good day.” That was kinda disrespectful. You got experience i’m not arguing but i’m gonna surprise you - your 30 years of Ac service experience was wrong, go check it anywhere, you can’t fill up ac with engine and ac turned on. Educate!

But here’s the problem:
• With the engine off, the compressor is not running.
• That means there’s no suction from the low-pressure side, so refrigerant doesn’t flow properly.
• Pressure readings are inaccurate because the system is static.
• This can lead to undercharging, poor cooling, or long-term damage to the compressor.

This isn’t a matter of opinion — every manufacturer, every AC service guide says the same:

“Vacuum with the engine off. Charge refrigerant with the engine running and AC on max.”

I wasn’t rude. I just asked for the service to be done by the book. Instead, I was dismissed and told I don’t know what I’m talking about.

If you’re serious about your car’s AC system and want it serviced correctly — go somewhere else.
This place might get away with cutting corners, but you’re the one who’ll pay for it later.

He overfilled freon and because of it compressor didn’t start

Comment : Matt is the nicest and most honest mechanic, I'm so glad I found them. They do good work for a good price, and he'll give you honest opinions and recommendations that you can trust. He really has a service-first mentality over profit, which has made me not want to go anywhere else. Fully worth all 5 stars, I'd go out of my way to take my car there if necessary.
