Comment : We took our 2021 Tahoe for a torque converter going out, which we have an extended warranty and it is covered. HOWEVER this process should’ve taken no more than a week to get with the warranty, have an inspection, the get the work done. We were out of a vehicle for over 3 weeks. They DO NOT COMMUNICATE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR VEHICLE TO YOU WHAT SO EVER. When the replacement work was starting (of course you have to pull the transmission out for this) THEY broke the the transmission case, and decided not to tell us UNTIL we called to see how things were going. This goes on and on FOR DAYS. Between speaking with Jared, Andrea and Jennifer they continuously kept denying the tech had any fault in the breaking of the transmission housing, however they stated THEY WOULD COVER IT AND NOT MAKE US PAY ANYTHING(I have all conversations recorded, in case anyone wants to hear), however they decided to go ahead and try pinning this not only on the dowel pin, but also a bolt seized and when the technician was wiggling it, it broke. After speaking with MULTIPLE SHOPS AND MASTER TECHNICIANS, this would only happen if it was pried beyond the breaking point, negligence of leaving a bolt in, or just pure negligence. then after 3 weeks of battling and begging for just pure honesty and having a clear line of communication they still do not care to call and give updates( I AM AWARE A DAILY UPDATE IS NOT NECESSARY, BUT AT LEAST LETTING US KNOW WHAT WARRANTY HAS SAID, DONE AND STEPS MOVING FORWARD), they were never given unless WE CALLED begging and pleading to get information, and even then it was oh let me ask this person, oh I’m not sure I need to ask another person. So on August 13, on the 4th phone call of trying to figure out what is next steps for our vehicle in the repair process Jennifer states “I am trying to contact the warranty company again to see if we can get this covered so you guys don’t have to come out of pocket because I just don’t believe my tech did this”. I immediately stated previous conversations are recorded and what Jennifer, Jared and Andrea all stated was, “regardless of what the warranty company approves or declines we will get started on your vehicle, and you won’t have to pay for it.” She tried denying and denying and it wasn’t until I stated I have every conversation recorded and this is what you said, she finally backed off. Said she was going to try calling “their warranty rep” to beg and plead to get this covered so they don’t have to pay for their mistakes. After that being denied the ONE TIME SHE CALLED, said “we are going to start the repairs on your vehicle.” I just want to make everyone aware of the total negligence and irresponsible behavior trying to lie and lie, trying to change their statements multiple times, that you should never, and I mean NEVER bring your vehicle here for any kind of repair whatsoever if you care about your vehicle. Then on 8/15, calls after their “transmission technician” that they constantly try to upscale, test drives my car for 1 mile and says there’s a noise, mind you recording after recording I have where she only stated that the torque converter needed to be changed and that there was a slight whine in the rear end that needs a “fluid change” was all the sound they heard and now it’s making a massive noise that he couldn’t even drive it 2 miles. Once again proving irresponsibly how they treat vehicles in repairing them. Then got mad when I said at this point I’m contacting my lawyer for multiple reasons, that she will cease all repairs on my vehicle, that’s retaliation. Now on 8/18 we get a call stating that something else is wrong with the transmission and once again has to be broken down, with little to no explanation of what is wrong or what happened. Come to find out they broke an internal piece, and I’m in shock they finally took some responsibility and admitted this time that it was their fault and they are going to take responsibility. So now on 8/19 they call and go oh well the wrong part came in, at 2 something in the afternoon. Once again delays after delays.

Comment : Both the sales department and service department are both very poorly ran and executed. First to start off we kept being told different stories on when we were trying to purchase our Tahoe from this place. Which the credit union they were using is the credit union I have used for all of my vehicles. Kept being told they would only approve so much with so much down. It kept changing every time we talked. So I took it upon myself to contact my person at the credit union and got everything approved with ZERO down. So of course that left a bad taste in my mouth to begin with. Three months go by and it develops a torque converter shutter. I have automotive experience including dealership experience. So I diagnosed it and me and my wife brought it to them with the concern. Upon removing the transmission the technician broke the bellhousing from what I am 100% certain was due to a bolt being left in it. Jennifer the service manager kept trying to claim it was due to rust and corrosion. Warranty company originally denied the claim. Jennifer said they would handle it. Until they got there personal warranty rep with the company our warranty is through to some how cover the repair of replacing the transmission case. The technician installed the thrust bearing incorrectly and caused damage to the internals. So those parts had to be ordered. Wrong part ordered, delay again. Finally after three weeks, poor communication, and lies. we have the Tahoe back.i wasn’t contacted at all during this time until my wife told them we would get a lawyer involved

Comment : The initial problem I brought it in for was a chugging when I accelerated. I was told that there was a problem with the transmission fluid, and it needed to be changed to HP fluid. I was told that GM knew about this problem BEFORE I even purchased the truck (2019). However, I would have to pay $850 for it to be changed even though my truck is only 5 years and 2 months old AND I have an extended warranty through 2027. I contacted Mr. Wright about this twice and he contacted finance. Finance contacted me and said they’d talk to the service manager. I’ve heard nothing since. I’ve had ALL maintenance done on this truck at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet since I purchased it in May 2020, and there was no attempt at trying to resolve this amicably in a way that was fair for both of us.

Update: They did contact me following this review and were able to work with me to resolve the issue and fix the problem. I appreciate them reaching out to GM to come up with a solution. This is the first problem I have ever had with Tuscaloosa Chevrolet, and I appreciate the extra assistance and care.

Comment : This dealership is exceptionally poor. I have never encountered a dealership that employs inexperienced workers. The tires on my car are staggered, and I was sold front-end tires for the prices of the rear tires, which were $60 more per tire. I did not notice until I arrived home and my husband checked. I confronted the manager, who was extremely rude and denied the situation. This dealership appears to be a scam targeting a specific group of individuals. Not everyone is treated equally here. Jennifer does not meet the standards to lead a team, yet she failed the team, the company, and the Chevrolet family. Please improve and rectify this issue.

Comment : Horrible 🤬 I've had to bring my car back 4 for the samething that the Horrible mechanic can't seem to fix properly. Im out of over $1,000 just to rent & have my car towed up there to be fixed. They wouldn't even pay for what there mechanic isn't fixing . Management isn't showing any accountability for anything. Horrible service mechanics, Horrible work ethic. Not a Happy customer.

Comment : Made a reservation to hold a vehicle for purchase, when we pull up it’s already in reserved parking for us. Name on the board with the vehicle on hold..

Why is someone allowed to get in it knowing we have it on hold?

We should have had first dibs correct.

I never felt so disrespected when trying buying a vehicle. I will NEVER be back
