Got charged $205 for the diagnostics alone which Google and my car-savvy friends tell me is well above average. They said fixing the issues would be another $800+ which embarrassingly made me cry, as another mechanic that looked at it when I was trying to get home from the desert told me it was an easy fix and, as I told Tom's, I'm struggling quite a bit financially right now... did I really need ALL the work they suggested? Was the new thermostat I'd already bought for the car REALLY not good enough? Their response was to pressure me into a sketchy looking, high-interest loan service.

Thank goodness I ran the quote by car-savvy friends who told me to take it somewhere else immediately. They offered to fix it for a third of the price, so I called to cancel my appointment at Tom's. They had no record of me.

What a bummer. I'm trying not to speculate on why they treated me like that, because that's depressing, but I can't help but wonder if it's because I'm a woman.'>

Comment : I had high hopes for this place given all the positive reviews. I'd been having an issue where my temperature gauge stopped working for a while and then would come back on and the engine would be a normal temperature.
