They said fixing the issues would be another $800+ which embarrassingly made me cry, as another mechanic that looked at it when I was trying to get home from the desert told me it was an easy fix and, as I told Tom's, I'm struggling quite a bit financially right now... did I really need ALL the work they suggested? Was the new thermostat I'd already bought for the car REALLY not good enough? Their response was to pressure me into a sketchy looking, high-interest loan service.Thank goodness I ran the quote by car-savvy friends who told me to take it somewhere else immediately. They offered to fix it for a third of the price, so I called to cancel my appointment at Tom's. They had no record of me.What a bummer. I called and spoke to Victor Gonzalez the store manager about several service items on my 2018 Cadillac Escalade. Shock replacement, spark plugs / tuneup, transmission, brake, differential fluid replacement and alignment. Victor was outstanding! He provided me details about all the services and I knew I was at the right place. He provided me a quote, which the pricing was fair market, plus I received a 15% Costco discount up to $500. When I picked up my Escalade and drove it, the ride was as good or better than new when I purchased the vehicle. He recommended me Arnott shocks as I wanted to go with a 3rd party brand and the ride is now incredible! Going forward, Tom’s is our place to repair all of my family’s vehicles.
