I was upfront from the very beginning about my bad credit and my financial situation. I hid nothing.
I worked with the same salesperson at Team One Chevrolet for over two months, mostly over the phone. Initially, I was approved for a vehicle around $38,000, but I agreed to lower my expectations and focus on a vehicle around $21,000 based on their guidance. Throughout that time, I was repeatedly told that a $9,000 down payment would be enough.
When I finally had the money and called to move forward, I was suddenly told I needed a larger down payment or a better co-signer. After two months of being told the same thing, the terms changed once I had the money in hand. That’s not how business should be handled.
P.S. If you have bad credit and are struggling to get approved, Benton Nissan in Oxford, AL approved me. I’m picking up my car tomorrow and couldn’t be happier!
