I have my own filter, which my son forgot to tell them. But anyways the mechanic said he could not put old or new oil filter on because whomever did oil change previously messed up the stud for where you screw the oil filter back on. Speede wanted to charge me $90+ to fix problem. I called the previous oil change place, spoke with manager and he responded immediately and was eager to fix issue if they did something wrong. Speede wouldn't allow them to fix stud, get my car off lot and I had already paid for oil change and they never put filter on. Long story short, nothing was wrong with stud and the mechanic from other shop bought an oil filter with him for my car and it went on just fine with no issues. So Speede was trying to fix an issue where there wasn't an issue. I rather you say you're mechanic messed up or didn't know what they were doing. Everyone was very polite, and I was greeted immediately. I was in and out in a very reasonable amount of time and charged less than the dealership. I was very pleased with the experience and will be back.
