Comment : If there were a zero-star option, I'd use it. If Google introduced negative stars, I'd finally feel properly represented.
Kia Frisco Service used to be genuinely solid. From around 2021, they had a team of 5 or 6 people who seemed to know what they were doing, answered the phone, explained things clearly, and actually made the service department function. Most of that team appears to be gone, and unfortunately the level of service seems to have left with them.
Now, getting someone on the phone feels like qualifying for the Olympics. Today I called 27 times, mostly having quality conversations with the AI phone lady, before finally giving up and driving over there myself. When I arrived, I was told the one person who could help me was extremely busy. Looking around, that wasn't hard to believe. There were basically two people trying to handle what looked like the workload of an entire dealership.
Meanwhile, the pricing has apparently entered the luxury-goods market. The labor rate is around $220/hour, and somehow even relatively ordinary jobs seem to acquire enough labor hours to qualify as a part-time job.
My favorite moment, though, was paying for a $189 oil change. The card reader suddenly showed $118,900. Thankfully I was wearing my glasses, because apparently that day they were worth approximately $118,711.
I used to recommend this service department because the people there made the experience easy and trustworthy. I cannot say the same anymore. The place feels understaffed, disorganized, extremely difficult to reach, and much more expensive than it used to be.
If you still take your car here, read the estimate carefully, verify every charge, confirm the labor hours, and ask questions before approving anything. Don't assume the experience is the same as it was a few years ago.
The old Kia Frisco Service was great. This version feels like someone bought the name, kept the building, and deleted the customer service department
