Comment : This a COVID-19 review. I came here at 10am on a Saturday, was a bit confused on where customer parking was since the street parking was completely full. Their lot looked like they had an overflow of inventory. I live between this dealership and metro Honda, I came to this one because they had better ratings on Yelp, I've been to Metro Honda and their employees did not look like they care about their jobs.
I was in and out within 15 mins, no salesperson push to purchase a new vehicle. Extremely friendly, sign papers and left. They were constantly disinfecting, I was the only customer in there when I was there, not busy at all on a Saturday morning.
I came here to return my 2017 Clarity BEV that Honda had a $200 dollar deal, 0 down and 20,000 per year, was a steal! My overall cost of owning this vehicle for 3 years was about $4,500 in total after CA rebates and such. Where can you find such a quality car at such a low cost? I would say the Clarity is a properly built car that is actually made in Japan. I've owned many hondas that were built in America such as a 2014 Honda Accord. It was such a poorly built-in car. BEWARE of that when you purchase a Honda. The interior will start to fall apart-creaking plastic sounds, error messages, the starter button fail when exposed to cold weather. Most of these were covered by warranty, but it sucks to have to take it into the dealer with no courtesy car provided...which is why I would never own a Honda ever again.
My personal feedback of owning a Honda Clarity BEV for 3 years was that the battery degradation was pretty bad, good thing it was a lease! I did not get the full 90 miles EPA anymore, but this happens to all battery powered vehicles--this one just happened to degrade much faster than a Tesla. The only complaint I have about this car was the infotainment system really sucked, it was laggy and most of the time would not detect my Bluetooth. If you did full throttle on the acceleration, your front tires will be worn out by 1.5 years. The tires cost about $250 each x4, cannot get off brand non eco $80 tires or else you will lose out on 10 miles of range. When it's cold, you cannot leave the heater on if you need to go far or you won't have enough range to get home without charging. The range will drop every minute by a mile if you leave the heater on, thankfully we live in socal. Another thing is Honda paint, all Hondas have one thin layer of finish paint unlike german cars that have 3 layers of protective coating. If you own a Honda, you know the paint chip and hairline scratches after a touch car wash, or even someone opening their door onto your Honda. It's no fun ): I do love that Honda have a blind spot camera that you can turn on when you drive, helps with the quick lane changes. Overall, if you're considering an economy car, I would recommend Honda over Nissan, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai, Mazda. They just have a better built quality, design overall, and engine configuration.
