Comment : I highly recommend this auto shop. I had my car repaired due to a collision. The staff were all very helpful and professional, with special mention to Chris and Andrew. They always update me with the status of the repairs and the timeline of repair was accurate. I am very happy with the results and I will definitely go back for the maintenance of my vehicles. Again, thanks to Chris and Andrew.. we were really taken cared of.

Comment : We had been using Rio Grande for years and sadly I think we ve been taken advantage of and cheated by them. I had taken my car in for what I believed was a transmission problem. I told them when dropping it off what it was doing. I was told by them, sounds like transmission we will be sure to check it out and let you know. They wrote that down on the estimate sheet. After a week, I was told it wasn t the transmission and rodents had chew wires. I paid thousands of dollars for the repair. On my receipt it was documented transmission checked and field tested. I had someone pick it up and bring it home to me. The receipt said field tested. The next morning I got in and it was driving the EXACT same way. I took it back and asked for whoever did the work to drive it with me in the car. He said after driving it a few minutes, Oh this is a transmission problem. I ask didn t he check that and why was I told rodents chewed the wires? He said this car doesn t have wires it was probably the coil boots that were changed. I shouldn t have left with my car then but I had already invested 5,000. So I left it again to be told it would be approximately $9,000 more for a used transmission and transfer case. I thought about this and waited for them to get the part. Called around to other references I had gotten from friends. Actually three friends told me the same name of who they trusted. I called and explained the situation. Decided to take my car there. That estimate for a remanufactured transmission was quoted $3,000 cheaper. After calling Rio Grand Auto everyday for weeks to see if the transmission had come in, I was told no. Not yet. (By the way they NEVER call back. NEVER) I then told them I was picking it up. Don t fix it. Went in to pick it up, and was told it just came in and I needed to paid $490 shipping fee. Even though I do not believe it had come in and against my better judgement I paid it. I took it to the other place and got a remanufactured, not used, transmission and did not need a transfer case, and was shown what I needed and what was replaced, for thousands of dollars cheaper. Not charged at all for a shipping fee. And they cleaned the nastiness left inside my car by Rio Grande Auto. I do NOT recommend this place. After using them for probably close to a decade, I m sad to say it, but I do not trust them. And wonder what all I ve been lied about and paid for those lies.

Comment : Our diagnostic scan showed an error code and our check engine light was on. We called on Friday, they told us to bring it in Monday at 8 a.m. and we did. We also asked them to check belts and chains, shocks and struts and give us an estimate for all of it. They never called and they close at 5:00 so I called at 4:30. They hadn't even done the inspection and they said they would look it over and call me back. Nope, they didn't. The next morning when I called them again, they were all apologizing and trying to explain how busy they were blah blah blah. They did diagnose the check engine/error code and our car is at another auto mechanic now for about the same price. They just made me feel unheard, not taken care of, unimportant, inconvenienced and angry. I said I didn't want to pay for the diagnostic and they agreed so that's the only reason they get one star from me.

Comment : Called Rio Grande about a quote to see how much it would cost to repair an issue on our truck. I was referred to them. The gentleman who answered was very helpful and kind. He let me know that they were busy with other repairs in their garage. I believe it was Andrew who told me he would find out if they could add my truck to the list. He put me on hold and came back and asked if I was willing to leave the truck Wednesday and it would be ready by Friday. Well, I dropped the truck off Wednesday, and by Thursday around noon, it was ready!! I was surprised and happy. I let Andrew know I'm a AAA customer as well. He added that to my bill, and it helped me alot. No one likes having their automobile breaking down because you have to pay so much to get it repaired. But if an auto shop is willing to give a discount such as a AAA discount, it certainly helps. Thank you to Rio Grande Automotive for repairs on my Chevrolet Colorado. The thermostat is working great, and the truck is running excellent now. I know where to go for my repair down the road later on. Thank you to all the skilled mechanics there. Keep up the great job and excellent customer service. 5 plus stars. I highly recommend you stop by their shop for your next auto repair. They don't give you the run around. Up front and honest. ????????????????????
