Comment : My husband took his 2018 Chevy Colorado truck in because it had started shuddering while driving. Reliable Transmission knew that Colorado trucks of certain years have a known issue with factory transmission fluid absorbing moisture causing a shudder. They changed the transmission fluid and test drove multiple times to check for a continuing shudder and possible additional problems. There were none. They provided good communication too. After getting the truck back, we took it on a long drive without issues. Thanks Reliable Transmission!

After this visit, I think a few weeks later, I took it to a Honda dealership for a Multi-point inspection and they said that it was hemorrhaging. I have not driven the car much after that, so I don't know what the damage truly is, but the car at this point was leaving small puddles of transmission fluid on the ground after being parked for less than a day, something that it was not doing at the time I took it to Reliable Transmission. I could clearly see the difference in the appearance of the underside of the car in Honda's inspection videos vs when I saw it at RT. Here I do not have all the facts for why the car acted like this but it is not surprising considering the miles I was driving it with low fluid, the time it had spent in disuse, etc etc.

I did not get any service at Reliable Transmission, just a free inspection, but it was helpful and I learned a lot.'>

Comment : I took a 2001 Honda Odyssey here a little over a month ago because someone recommended the shop to me. Before taking it in, all I knew was that the transmission fluid was low, based on an associate mentioning that it looked low while showing me all the fluid locations for fun, and also based on a tire shop checking the fluid level on my request and telling me it was low. I drove it in and talked to Jason, before touching the vehicle I told him about how it had been checked at the tire shop and he told me that Honda vehicles have a different technique for checking transmission fluid level. They were busy but were able to look at the vehicle. First, he checked the fluid level and it was not on the dipstick; those other two times it was checked before this there was just some fluid up the side of the dipstick which he mentioned was how low transmission fluid may typically look. He suggested it may be leaking at the axle shafts, which is a common problem. I asked if I could watch the inspection, he said yes. He raised the vehicle and showed me that there was a leak coming from what I think is called the transmission gearbox, which is made of two sides. It appeared as if this box had been repaired before, but not well, the seam between the two sides was covered in silicone, and his diagnosis was that in the previous repair, the connection between the two sides of the gearbox had not been smoothed out enough and for that reason it was leaking. I did not know about the car's repair history before bringing it in. He also mentioned that it did not appear wet where it would if it were an axle shaft leak, and that it seems like the car has had this problem for a while because there were stains across the entire bottom of the car presumably from the fluid being carried back in 60mph winds. I asked more questions to understand the problem and clarify what it implied for me and the car, his recommendation was to top off the transmission fluid every time I got gas, based on how much it seemed to be leaking. He mentioned that the important part here would be to not let the fluid level get low so the transmission does not sustain further damage. He explained the costs and implications of the true repair that would be needed as well, which would be smoothing out the gearbox seam, which would require disassembly plus could possibly uncover more damage to the transmission that I would otherwise be unaware of. He lowered the car and put in all of the correct spare transmission fluid that he could find lying around; it turned out that it was about 2 quarts low and he put in 1.5 quarts free of charge which got it up to the bottom dot on the dipstick. He just said I could give a Google review as payment.
