They have always provided good service, up to my last visit. I brought my truck in for an oil change and waited at the shop. I was then told that the oil drain plug needed to be replaced because it was leaking. I gave the approval to replace the plug. I was then told that the threads on the oil pan were stripped and that the entire oil pan needed to be replaced. The truck was stuck on the lift since the engine could not be run without any oil. I've had my oil changes for the past few years done at QualTech and they are the only ones who have changed the oil. I did not have any oil leakes before I brought it in for this latest oil change. I believe that they stripped the threads on the oil pan. I had no choice but to replace the oil plan with cost me over $1,000.00. I paid the bill and picked up my truck. On driving it home the engine started overheating, which is something it has not previously done. By the time I got it home the temperature needle was pinned to the highest temperature it could indicate. I called QualTech and explained what happened, they told me to bring it in. Because it was not driveable I had AAA tow it to the shop. They told me that there was an air pocket in the coolant line that was causing the engine to overheat. Apparently this occured when they changed the oil pan. They fixed the coolant problem and did not charge me for it. When I picked up the truck I asked them how the oil pan threads got stripped and they didn't have a answer for me. The person who handled the initial repair was not available, but the person I spoke with said he would check with him and give me a call back. I did not receive a call back. At this point I do not trust Qualtech to made repairs on my truck and will be taking my business elsewhere. 1 Reviews Laticia Cofield Austin, TX Reviewed : 03/27/2025 Comment : The reps and mechanics at QualTech are polite, informative and good at what they do. Their customer service is beyond exceptional and this last time we went in they advised us that our issue was under warranty. We suspected that but didn't mention it. They were upfront about it from the get-go. 1 Reviews Terrie Dewitt Austin, TX Reviewed : 03/12/2025 Comment : 1 Reviews Joseph Rapp Austin, TX Reviewed : 02/06/2025 Comment : Inadequate communication and failure to provide standard procedures and mechanic forgot simple things that should have been done. Also, not enough effort to work with us on price and only a $25 AAA discount 1 Reviews Erin Bleiweiss Austin, TX Reviewed : 01/21/2025 Comment : 1 Reviews Richard Baker Austin, TX Reviewed : 11/25/2024 Comment : Page 1 of 5 |<< 1 2 3 4 5 → >|
