The service was upfront on pricing and they got my car in and out fairly quickly. I would certainly use Portsmouth again if I need any work done in the future. 1 Reviews Nikki taylor Portsmouth, NH Reviewed : 03/21/2025 Comment : I had my car repaired here, and I couldn't be happier with the results! We were highly disappointed---without giving all the specific details poor communication, poor quality of work, high staff turnover impacting the customer experience and in summary an overall awful experience. 1 Reviews Katherine demolet Portsmouth, NH Reviewed : 02/21/2025 Comment : Having work done on your vehicle can be a stressful experience, and I feel like these days, it seems to take so much longer than it used to, but Portsmouth Auto was efficient and communicative throughout the whole process! I was so happy with everything and honestly, restored my faith in customer service! Would go back for any future body work (which hopefully I won't need again, haha).Having work done on your vehicle can be a stressful experience, and I feel like these days, it seems to take so much longer than it used to, but Portsmouth Auto was efficient and communicative throughout the whole process! The communication was awful from the start there was a lack of updates, and I had to constantly reach out to get any information on my car s status and the pick up date was moved multiple times very last minute. When I finally got my vehicle back, I noticed it barely started. This was not surprising, as I had been receiving OnStar alerts for the past several weeks indicating an issue with the vehicle which was communicated to staff. Once I managed to start the car, I drove off, only to notice a 6-inch crack in the windshield less than three minutes into my drive. I immediately contacted Portsmouth Auto Body, and the receptionist put me on hold to speak with the manager. When she returned, she told me that there were no cracks in the windshield in the photos taken the day before, and that sometimes cracks appear when a car sits in the cold and then heats up. However, I had not even had the car long enough for the heat to come on. Essentially, too bad so sad situation. After my insurance company reached out to the manager, he responded to my voicemails and emails. He told me the crack was not only there in pictures taken the day before (which the receptionist told me it wasn t) he told me the crack was noticed weeks prior (noticed a week after the car had been in their possession) and never brought to my attention while the car was there or when I picked the vehicle up. He states there must have been a chip in the windshield before I dropped off and the cold weather made it crack. There was no chip in my windshield upon dropping the vehicle off at PAB and it is clearly obvious this happened while my car was in their possession. The paint job was sloppy, with noticeable blemishes and areas where the seams clearly had chipped paint. To make matters worse, after driving my car just once to my workplace, I noticed a white powdery substance covering the entire side of the car with the repair. The general manager so generously offered me to bring the vehicle back as they back their repairs but bringing my car back to this untrustworthy location for it to sit for another 7 weeks and possible acquire new damage is the very last thing I want to do.While this review will not gain me anything- as the shop has made that clear- if I can save at least one person from the personal misery I have gone through with this shop, that would be a win for me. I would not recommend Portsmouth Auto Body to anyone based on my experience. The lack of professionalism and poor workmanship have made this a highly disappointing situation. In my opinion, one star is too many, but 0 is not an option.I had a terrible experience with Portsmouth Auto Body after my vehicle was repaired through USAA insurance. Even though my insurance sent them what they needed, the representative sat on my estimate for a month. I finally went in to ask about my estimate to find the representative never checked to see that the insurance company sent him what he needed. He stated he was going to email the estimate to the insurance company and me. I got my copy and two weeks later I find he never sent it to my insurance company. If you're into chasing down people to figure out why they've had your car for a month this is your shop. I don't think their office knows what they're doing. Office staff have no clue what they are doing. After getting my car inspected on site I was told to expect a quote to be emailed to me shortly. After a few days with no word, I called and was told ???No one told you that it would be emailed shortly, these things take time.??? About 2 minutes after hanging up the phone the quote magically appeared in my inbox..After several rambling phone calls to update me on my cars status (There was never an actual update, just "We're working on it!"), repairs were finished and I came in and paid. I ignored dozens of emails instructing me how to fill out a 5 star review for my insurance company.Three months later I received phone calls and emails demanding I pay an additional $800. I was lied to by the office manager Sarah C and they tried to pull a fast one on me for their own mistake. I told them to get lost. I won't be returning here.Quality of the repair work itself was fine.
