The car has a bit over 100k miles. My goal is to drive them till they drive no more. Before I purchased the car, I brought it to my usual mechanic to give it a look over. There was a minor oil leak that appeared to be a pan gasket. Other than that, it needed a couple of tires and brake service.

I brought it back to my mechanic to address the leak, and after a day in the shop, he had me pick it up, as the leak was actually coming from behind the timing cover and was " out of his wheelhouse", in other words, I needed a specialist.

I was directed to an import garage in Edison; however, they only worked on BMW and Mercedes.

After some searching on ChatGPT, I identified PPP as an option.

I delivered the car on a Monday afternoon and was given a COMPLETE diagnostic evaluation of the car on Tuesday afternoon. I was texted a link and scheduled a call with Eric, the service coordinator.

Eric took me through the report and delivered some less-than-welcoming news that I had another leak on the opposite side of the engine that needed to be addressed.

I had to decide to scrap a car that I just purchased 90 days ago (that I dropped $1400 into last week for tires, brakes, and a battery) or do the repairs and have my son in a super clean, rehabbed Volvo.

There was ZERO pressure from Eric to do a lot of work. I decided to move ahead and have the work completed.

I met Mr. Platt, who was gracious and welcoming.

Mr. Platt and his team were very impressive. Great communicators, knowledgeable, and supportive.

I am confident my son gets another 100K plus out of this vehicle, with regular maintenance.

I, too, am in the service business, and I am a firm believer that price is what you pay and VALUE is what you get.

As I tell clients often, the cheapest service providers often are the most expensive in the end.

I am very pleased with my first experience at Platt Performance Plus.

Comment : The people at Platt performance are truly professional, courteous, and very good at what they do. I’ve had hesitationissues with my truck went to several shops. They weren’t able to figure out the problem, but when I did some research on a shop to take my truck too. Platt performance came up several times. I decided to take the truck there little nervous, but they assured me that they would do everything they could to resolve the problem. True to their word they fixed an annoying problem that lasted a year.

Comment : I arrived with two issues..schedule oil change and replace window wipers. We scheduled an oil change and my wipers were changed immediately! Great service!

Comment : Hi…. The check engine light was on in my 2020 Jeep Cherokee… Brought it to a Jeep dealership to perhaps reflash the code to get rid of the light… After checking the code the situation was diagnosed as an active grill shutter issue… Dealership suggested replacing the wiring as it appeared to be damaged.

Brought to Platt for a second opinion… Despite being very busy, they were able to diagnose the situation as only one bad wire, and they were able to fix the problem for less than half the cost of the dealership.
