While the labor cost was on the higher side, the quality of work and overall experience fully justified it.From the start, their team demonstrated a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. They took the time to ensure that every component was installed with perfect fitment and alignment, especially the exhaust system, which can be tricky to get just right. The final result looks and sounds exactly how it should?clean, precise, and properly dialed in.What really stood out to me was their ethical approach. They didn?t just install parts and send me on my way?they carefully inspected the vehicle during the process and proactively pointed out minor issues, like slight seepage, that I should keep an eye on. There was no pressure or upselling, just honest, knowledgeable advice from people who clearly care about the cars they work on.It?s rare to find a shop that combines craftsmanship, integrity, and transparency at this level. If you?re looking for a place that treats your car with the same level of care and respect as you do, Platt?s Performance Plus is a solid choice. 1 Reviews Zoisa allen Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 04/24/2026 Comment : I had such a great experience at Platts, and I especially want to thank Eric for going above and beyond for us. We were in a stressful situation and a bit confused about our warranty, but Eric truly took the time to work with us and help figure everything out. He even spoke with the manager to make sure we could move forward in a way that worked for us, which meant so much. Our car was ready right on time, and they provided a thorough breakdown of everything that was done, along with clear guidance on what we may need to address in the future. That level of transparency and care is rare. This was our first time coming here, but it definitely won’t be our last they’ve earned a lifetime customer. Highly recommend! 1 Reviews Dottie spyrko Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 04/17/2026 Comment : Always professional, excellent service, and friendly. 1 Reviews Taylor a Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 04/13/2026 Comment : These guys did some great work on my ?68 Camaro. They did a full suspension upgrade, brake system upgrade, tuned the engine/ transmission, and replaced the subframe. There?s a long list of other work they did to car to get it up and running, but these guys were thorough and take a lot of pride in their work to get the job done right. I came to the right shop to get these upgrades and repairs done. My car was in their care for roughly 8 months, and I couldn?t be happier with how it all turned out. Their whole staff was pleasant and accommodating to work with especially when we got to the top of my budget. I?ll definitely be going back to them with all my future projects! 1 Reviews Samantha oliger Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 04/10/2026 Comment : I had a great experience at Platt?s Performance Plus. But the pricing was way beyond reasonable. Afterward, I saw typical starter replacement costs are $500?$900, and another local shop quoted me about $700 for the same job.'> Reviewed : 03/18/2026 Comment : I don?t think I?ve ever felt this ripped off by a mechanic. My 2012 Honda Accord wouldn?t start after stopping at a store in Jamesburg, and I had it towed through AAA to Platt?s (they mentioned a 10% discount, which sounded good at the time). The tow driver even told me it was most likely the starter. When I called, Erick was polite and said a diagnostic would cost around $300, but if they could confirm it was the starter without it, I wouldn?t be charged. Shortly after, he confirmed it was the starter and said the total would be about $1700. I immediately said that seemed way too high. After some back and forth, they lowered it slightly to around $1600, but pushed hard on using a ?premium? starter with a ?coast-to-coast warranty.?I even asked about a cheaper option, but was told they only like to use that brand. They emphasized the warranty multiple times, which felt like a sales tactic. Since my car was already there and I was stuck, I reluctantly agreed. When I picked up the car, the total was about $1550 (eventually reduced to ~$1435). The breakdown showed $587 for the starter and about $800 for 3.5 hours of labor (~$240/hour). While in the shop I looked up the same brand starter online for $319 and mentioned this to the owner and he said "well then you'd have to do it yourself." Isn't me paying $800 in labor me not doing it myself? So if I did have to get the diagnostic test, didn't get the 10% discount through AAA, and didn't get another $100 knocked off the final price I would've been looking at over $2000 for a starter? That's an outrageous price. Also, the warranty they kept promoting is only valid if you service your car there twice a year?something they never disclosed upfront. The car is fixed and working fine, so I can?t complain about the repair itself. But the pricing was way beyond reasonable. Afterward, I saw typical starter replacement costs are $500?$900, and another local shop quoted me about $700 for the same job. 1 Reviews Timothy ryan Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 03/13/2026 Comment : Impressive team and excellent communication! 1 Reviews Nidia silva Jamesburg, NJ Reviewed : 03/13/2026 Comment : Thank you for the good job.
