Comment : Truck broke down while 4-wheeling and I brought it here based on the good reviews, thinking I could trust them. They told me the front differential was bad and quoted $820 just to diagnose it because they?d have to tear it down, and said that if I approved the repair most of that labor would apply toward the fix.

Then they called back and quoted almost $8,000 for the repair, saying parts were ?hard to find.? I asked about installing a locker instead (very common upgrade and parts are easy to get). At first they hesitated, then called back and quoted basically the same insane price.

I pulled my truck out and took it to an actual off-road shop. They?re rebuilding the front diff with a locker and re-gearing both front and rear diffs for $4,500 ? nearly half the price of what this shop wanted to just fix the front.

Bottom line: this job was clearly over their head. They should have referred me to a specialist instead of trying to price me out of the work and wasting my time and money.

To make it worse, when I picked up the truck the differential wasn?t even reassembled properly. Parts were just thrown in a box, some bolts were missing, and I paid $820 to leave with my truck in worse condition than when I brought it in. Now I get to buy replacement hardware and the new shop has to clean up their mess.
