They told me that it was a complete lie and that my fluid levels pertaining to all the issues were fine. Just keep an eye on the levels like I should be doing anyway.I called them back after a couple days of letting this information sit and asked how this could have happened. I was referred to the supervisor because the guy who did the work couldn't give me an explanation. The supervisor couldn't give me an answer either besides "the way you fix things and the way we fix things are different." Obviously. These guys are either incompetent at their job, or they tried to gouge me out of thousands of dollars like they probably have done to many of the college kids that are down in Lawrence. You should be able to trust these so called experts to properly evaluate your situation and give you the correct options on how to fix it. From what I've found in Lawrence, that is not the case at all. No matter what, do not go here. I did some research, and I figured out that the connector could have went bad. I bought a new one and took my truck in to have it installed along with a load resistor because I have LED turn signals and i figured they could snap it in while they were in there. They told me they could install it, no problem. I get a call at work the next day and they tell me that there is rodent damage and that it will require a complete re-wire which is at least $1100. They also tell me that they ran a complete diagnostic because that's just what they do even if you don't ask for it. That cost $100 which i was fine with until I realized what they did. The diagnostic showed that I had a dozen leak issues with 7 of them being urgent. This would be another $2700 to correct. I told them that I would have to think about it. Luckily, I work with electricians everyday. A co-worker offered me a voltmeter and told me that it's something simple and to go home and test it. I went home and tested the wires and all 3 tested fine. I looked it over and it didn't take me long to realize what these "mechanics" did. They hooked a hot wire up to the ground terminal. I undid the connection and hooked it up correctly and it has been working fine for over a month now. I also installed the load resistor myself with no issues at all.I took my truck into a shop back home in illinois that has done great work for me in the past to check on those "leaks" they claimed were urgently needing correction. I came in because AAA told me that my alternator was ruined. These kind gentleman took a look at my car and told me nothing was wrong and didn?t even charge me for the labor. They are absolutely the most honest mechanic shop I have been to in town in all of my 24 years living here. 1 Reviews Paul m. Lawrence, KS Reviewed : 03/04/2026 Comment : This was the first visit to Christian Brothers Automotive Westinghouse Road. I made an appointment and requested oil change, state inspection, air and cabin air filters. Dropped the car off and meet with Lance the Service manager. Gave me an estimate and told me they would contact be when vehicle was ready as well as send me updates which it was being service. They sent me texts letting me know the vehicle was in the shop, it passed inspection, oil was changed using synthetic oil, waiting for cabin air filter. I had received a text with a photo letting me know that the engine air filter looked brand new. I usually keep track of things like that but fail to note that I had recently replaced the air filter, my error. When I picked up the vehicle, the air filter charge had been removed. The service was outstanding. If you are looking for a professional, honest, competent, friendly auto service shop, choose CBA, you will be pleasantly surprised. My biggest regret is that it took me so long to find them. 1 Reviews Christopher raithel Lawrence, KS Reviewed : 01/29/2026 Comment : Great service! I came in last October for a pre-purchase inspection on a 2014 Honda Civic I had just bought. Inspection was done in a few hours, cost a couple hundred dollars. Very detailed report. One particular thing: The mechanic noted that the exhaust "sounded a bit louder than usual." I asked if they could take a closer look, so they hoisted the car up and showed me that one of the gaskets near the exhaust had gotten worn down. So I take the car back to the dealer for repairs, and they found that the issue was a loose engine mount, which could have gotten much worse. They replaced it under warranty (no cost to me!) and I avoided a huge headache down the the road. I have no idea how the Lawrence Automotive Diagnostics people found that out just from the exhaust volume, but I'm not complaining! Also, I never felt pressured or hassled during their service, and their staff were very kind, which is important because I look visibly confused around cars so it is probably easy to take advantage of me. Would definitely recommend! 1 Reviews Stephanie gravatt Lawrence, KS Reviewed : 12/07/2025 Comment : My husband and I were on our 20th anniversary road trip when our car started overheating. We called Lawrence Automotive Diagnostics, explained our situation (heading home to Pittsburgh, PA), and they said they were able to check out the vehicle. We had it towed there and the mechanics diagnosed it immediately. Not only did the car have a cracked radiator, it was showing other issues on the diagnostic test which could be an additional catastrophic issue. They could have easily had us pay for a new radiator ($$$) and then told us about the additional issues, but they were up front with everything. They were extremely accommodating to us when we were deciding what to do with our car and how we were going to get back home. Ultimately, we ended up selling the car and purchasing a new one at a nearby dealership. The labor costs they charged us were more than fair and less expensive than we were expecting. While we don't live anywhere near Kansas, I cannot recommend this shop enough. My husband and I were stranded in an unfamiliar city/state and could have easily been taken advantage of. Instead, they were friendly, quick, forthcoming, and provided us with practical solutions for our problem. We cannot thank them enough. 1 Reviews Talon Lawrence, KS Reviewed : 11/26/2025 Comment : inflated prices.
