I had several issues with my Mercedes SL550 of which I only wanted Kohl to repair two items. Being a 2007 model, I called ahead to make sure they could replace the hardtop acuator and the AC compressor. The lady I spoke with ask the shop and she said they could make the repairs. Since I had to drive a considerable distance, I made an appointment so naturally I thought my car would be taken into the shop upon my arrival and my car would not sit out. My work order requested a call from the mechanic after the issues were diagnosed to let me know the results and the cost of the repairs. After two weeks of waiting I became concerned and called to see if they had diagnosed the problem. I was told my car was too old and they were just too busy and to please come pick it up. I was utterly amazed since I had called first to make sure they could do the repairs. Two days wasted delivering the car to them and returning to pick it up.I do not judge anyone and this may be a very good shop but I give you my experience to hopefully save anyone else from the same situation. One just had restricted air flow, and the other needed a new condenser. I was so impressed by their service that I've scheduled routine maintenance on both and the brake repair. You will need an appointment because these folks do stay busy.. for good reason. The owner (Mr. Gray) and his staff are professional, helpful, and *honest*. There's no indication or feeling of them 'selling' unnecessary repairs. When working on my van, they found that my brakes needed minor work (not a surprise since I've never had any brake work done on that 20 year old vehicle). They simply listed their findings on my bill - they didn't call trying to sell me hundreds of dollars of extra work. I also need a new windshield and asked the owner if he could recommend someone. He gave us the name of the company they use, but he said the work can be done on site by that company, if we wanted, while the vehicle is there for the brake job - and Kohl's makes all the arrangements. Getting both repairs taken care of at once at the same place is very convenient. Apparently, Kohl's has a great reputation & has been in business a long time, but I've just discovered them. He told her that only the part would be covered and the owner would be responsible for labor. My husband agreed and dropped his car off first thing Monday am. They checked to see was needed ordered the part and when he went to picket uphill car today he was billed double what he agreed on. I asked them to do all the brakes. my car was in the shop for two days and that after waiting for a week to get in. never called for updates or anything I had to call both days. They have fixed a few of our vehicles and are very reasonably priced. The lady at the front desk has always treated us with a smile and positive attitude.
