Comment : This shop is the worst kind of garage. Careless with your vehicle, dishonest when confronted, and absolutely unsafe.
When they first installed my Intoxalock, they didn’t even reassemble the panels correctly. The steering column rubbed every time I turned. I shouldn’t have had to fix their botched work myself, but I did because that’s the kind of “quality” you get here.
Fast forward to the uninstall. I get my car back and not only is it rubbing AGAIN, but now my airbag light is on. Before the uninstall, I personally checked everything and even took pictures because I already knew this place couldn’t be trusted. Sure enough, when I ran a scan, the error pointed to the front left airbag system. The exact area they were tearing into.
When I called them, they flat-out lied. They claimed it was “like that before” (false), swore the uninstall “couldn’t have caused it” (nonsense), and said “their tech didn’t touch anything in that area” (ridiculous). They refused to even look at the issue or fix their mistake. Instead, they basically told me I was on my own.
So now I’m left with a vehicle that has rubbing panels, sloppy reassembly, and a compromised airbag system that may not even deploy in a crash. All because of their negligence and refusal to take accountability.
This place doesn’t just do poor work. They endanger people’s safety and then lie to cover it up. Joe Mays Towing and Repair is unprofessional, dishonest, and flat-out dangerous. If you value your car, your money, or your life, do yourself a favor and take your business literally anywhere else.
Update: After digging into the problem myself, I found the issue, a cut wire. That’s it. Something any competent mechanic should have caught or avoided in the first place. The fact that their “technician” missed this (or caused it) tells you everything you need to know.
I’m not even a professional mechanic, yet I figured it out faster and more accurately than the person they pay to work on cars. If I can diagnose and repair their mess in my own driveway, what does that say about their skill level? Either they’re careless, clueless, or both.
So not only did they break my car, lie to my face, and refuse to make it right, but they also proved their so-called “technician” has less mechanical ability than a guy who doesn’t even do this for a living. Embarrassing.
