After waiting approximately two hours, I was informed that the warning light had turned off and the issue was now classified as a “historical” code. Despite this, I was charged a $200 diagnostic fee without receiving any clear explanation or actionable guidance.While I understand that diagnostic evaluations require time and expertise, I would have appreciated more transparency regarding potential charges—especially in a situation where no active issue could be identified. Car buying is supposed to be a team effort and this certainly was not. Ian & Chris valued my car for trade in way lower than expected and refused to work with us on numbers even after mentioning what Kelley Blue Book valued our car for trade in. Mind you, this car is NOT in bad condition. It has been well taken care of the past 2.5 years I’ve had it. No dents, scrapes, or any cosmetic defects at all. We walked away and decided to look at cars elsewhere. We went to Nucar in Concord and they valued our car for trade-in at 3k more than Irwin’s did plus they had a 2k bonus offer for trade ins going on, so it was a total of a 5k increase. Irwin Hyundai advertised a car price on the web, which we requested an online quote for. Shortly after our request, we received an email quote from Tyler that was better than the web advertised price and a note saying the price was valid for 24 hours. We drove three hours the next day from Massachusetts to the dealership to test drive and buy the car and they would not honor the quoted price. In addition, to that they low-balled the estimate on our trade in which was more than $3000 less than other dealers had estimated its value. Then when I presented them with the $3000 certificate over book value for our trade in that they gave me online for making an appointment, they again would not honor the certificate. Overall, I would not do business with a company that does not stand by their word.
