Comment : I came to Gillie Hyde to get a reliable car as I am a single struggling parent. Stuart is by far the best salesman there. He understood my situation and knows how the parent life can be. Because of this man's help, I have progressed in my life in such a positive way.
6+ years go by, and I have paid my car off. I thought, "it's time to get a truck." 4x4, strong, and able to protect my child and myself. I went back to Gillie Hyde to be greeted by a different man as I thought Stuart wasn't there anymore due to going there with 2 different friends, 2 different times (both friends bought cars there, your welcome.) Both times I asked for Stuart. Unfortunately, the first time he was out of the office. 2nd time I was told he is no longer there.
Chandler greets me. He seems sweet. Well dressed, and easy to talk to. His charisma skills are pristine, but by the end of my journey with him it was apparent he didn't understand the assignment.
I understand we are human and cars are machines and tend to malfunction. You sell me a high mileage truck not set for success. I leave the lot, and the check engine light is on in 2 weeks with the coolant level very low. Week 3 comes, it's jerking. On week 4 grinding, the RPM needle is dancing, and I had to replace BOTH rear and front brake pads after week 1 only to get strained in the middle of the road because my starter went out. I notify you on week 2 before week 3 when I got stranded. With your reply being "For us to check it that'll be $100." I explain I have to save the money up. As I knew I made a bad choice and bought a truck with high miles on it. I just didn't know the truck was this bad off. I take it to Gillies workshop with my $100 for Matt to tell me "Normally it's $200 to get checked out so Chandler is trying to help you out." I take a deep breath, and I tell Matt I'll leave it here just let me know when you're finished. As I was walking out sweet, sweet Cameron saw me walking towards the door. I feel like he saw I was stressed. Concerned he asked "is everything okay.
This man took time out of his day to hear me and understand my struggles. Little did I know he is a father himself. He said "would you want to see if we can trade it in to get you a different car on the lot. This way you may find one less miles better warranty and less stress." At first I was scared. I don't think it can get any worse than where I was at. I took a leap and said sure.
Cameron worked hard! Looked at both lots provided the area. Gives me a call near closing time to notify me he has good news. He stayed late hours to close a deal, and help me get out of a hole someone helped put me in.
Take this as a "what needs to be improved" with Gillie Hyde, and not as a bad review.
Chandler, when it comes to your guest set them up for success. Be sure the wheels they buy are set for success. Remember this isn't a new shirt they are buying from a shop. This is a high dollar item people rely on to make a living. You want your guest to feel important, and them to know you TRULY care. Cars leaving the lot need to be LIKE new (fluids full, brakes good, good rotors, belts not rotted, no oil or coolant leaks)
Cameron, read all facts! This isn't "pick a door" or "Jeopardy". When someone asks you specs about the wheels you're selling, they are putting their trust and faith in you. I believe you told me at your desk "have a little faith" I'm trying man lol.
Wes/Wesley (sorry if I said your name wrong) you are very friendly and I appreciate you coming to check in with the process to make sure everything was going smooth. Did I get a better deal than I had? Mostly yes, but was misinformed by one associate, and not in thought with the other associate as this associate didn't leap to help me as Cameron did. I thank you 3 gentlemen for making the attempt. May the next 5 years be pleasant for us all.
