Comment : WARNING: Stay away!!! Do not go here for a Maryland State Inspection or car maintenance! They charge almost double what other places charge for the inspection. Also, their mechanics are NOT TRUSTWORTHY!! (Please take heed!) They tried to say I needed nearly $5000 of work done on my vehicle to pass the inspection. They said I needed a part that another mechanic said didn't even exist! They also ruined some things on my car. The hood no longer stands on its own and my wheels were shaking at high speeds - these weren't issues when I brought my car in. My car was worse from having gone there! I will never return and cannot recommend. In fact, I highly discourage anyone from taking their car here. You will likely be ripped off by overinflated pricing and dishonest mechanics.

The management responded to my review that they did not do any repairs that would make my car worse and they did not give me an estimate for repairs. It is true, they did not do any repairs, so that makes it even worse that my hood could no longer stay open after I took it to the shop for the inspection. The mechanics apparently damaged the hood any didn't say anything about it. In addition, I took my car to a trusted mechanic to have them provide a second opinion following the inspection at freestate. One of the items that freestate suggested for repair did not even exist! Look at some of the other reviews - other customers say the same thing - that freestate's mechanics made up repairs that were not necessary. I got quotes for the list of repairs that freestate suggested and the amount of work that they required was exorbitant, unnecessary, and untrue. They also advised in their response that I should come back for a re-inspection. I would NEVER! Nor should you, if you are a prudent consumer. BEWARE!!

Comment : I had a great experience at Freestate Auto & Truck Service getting an oil change and tire rotation. Brandy at the front counter was fantastic—prompt, friendly, and very informative. She kept everyone updated on the status of their vehicles, which made the wait stress-free.

The lobby was clean and comfortable, and the work was done quickly and with care. The technician even walked me through the services performed, which I really appreciated.
