Comment : Long and hard:
As we all know, within the last 10 years, dealerships have gotten a bad rep for overcharging, misinforming, and leaving a bad taste in most people's mouths. Given our current economy and gas prices, I found it best to finally bite the bullet, and trade in a 90s daily driver for something more economic and fuel efficient.
As I already own 2 GM proud vehicles from Foster's itself, ideally this was my go-to dealership of choice. As I anticipated long and hard about making the trade, I was originally welcomed by Sue, such a kind woman with a great knowledge of her craft.
I was excited to finally make the move, and settled on one of their "certified pre owned" vehicles. Now looking back I'm honestly wondering if this is the equivalent of a Facebook blue check mark certification and nothing more. I signed and went out the door.
2 days... 2 days is all that elapsed before I started having issues. First a service airbag warning, then a check engine light. Then a faulty display screen So I take my truck up to be looked at. Not told how long it would be, nor was I offered a rental. It took me finally going up there and making an ass out of myself to get one.
Mark the "service writter" said we would have it all taken care of. I thought long and hard about "should I trust this man? " I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with Alesha, Chris and Lamar, so surely I could trust him right?.... RIGHT!? Wrong!
After a week I get a call, your truck is ready, I pick it up, run 1 errand and truck starts acting up again, touch screen shorting out and auto scrolling. I immediately take it back to be told the guy who worked on my truck isn't in and he would give me a call tomorrow (Tuesday) to schedule an appointment. No call. No nothing. That night while running an errand the camshaft decided to exit the chatroom (probably got tired of Marks lack of communication and thought, "I'll find a reason for him to get me in now!") and caused internal failure of my engine. I though long and hard, how could this happen to me!? I've only owned this vehicle for 2 weeks and half of that time it was at the dealership being fixed! Fast forward another 2 weeks.
Lack luster worth of communication on Marks part. In fact he would say that the techs found yet even more stuff wrong with my truck as to why it's going to take longer than expected, even though to his surprise, all of this was already brought to my attention and addressed.
Quick, stall, divert attention as to why things aren't getting done when expected! Is this a hiring issue? A scheduling issue? A parts not ordered issue? D. All of the above! Why? Cause even though parts were approved to be ordered, Mark never told the parts guy to order them making the mess fall on someone else's lap which seems to be his go to.
My truck is now done, over a month later. I have my first payment due in 4 days.... how long have I got to enjoy said truck since I signed papers? 1 week
This dealership has fallen far off from the high pedestal I once placed it on. Bad tastes for everyone's mouths all around. Dawson, I'd start doing some serious investigating into whos on your team, for more and more people are having these same experiences at this establishment. Might want to do just that.... think LONG AND HARD! As I too, am going to think long and hard about ever taking one of my vehicles here ever again.
Starting to feel like all I got was something long and hard!
