After having the car towed to Fairfield Kia, the staff were helpful in having me fill out a service ticket, and then the service department went through the issues the car had, which thankfully was limited to the alternator, though a multipoint inspection found I needed front brakes. They were open and forthcoming about things the car needed and things that were not critical, which I appreciated. They also were able to get the part delivered and installed within the week that I was in NH so that I could drive home that weekend to VA. I am not just grateful for the excellent work they did with my car, but also for how I was treated by all the staff I encountered. I think they gathered that I was a bit out of sorts and stressed about the ordeal and they were very kind and helpful. While I'm safely back in VA, I highly recommend the dealership and service department. The service department told us they were very busy but welcomed us to stop by for a quick safety check.However, when we arrived the next day as advised, we were told they had no time and that there was a huge line of cars waiting. There was no attempt to honor what they had told us on the phone, nor any real effort to help—despite the fact that we were only asking for a quick check to ensure the vehicle was safe to drive.We understand that service departments get busy, but if you're not able to follow through on what you tell customers, it creates confusion and frustration. We expected at least a basic assessment or clearer communication about the actual wait times.
