Comment : These guys are true to their word. My car needed an engine replacement, and I’m not the rich guy who always gets a new car or the person with the perfect credit score. I searched thoroughly because places like Killeen/Ft. Hood are loaded with military folks—there’s a lot of money to be made, and I didn’t like the odds. Based on AAA recommendations and AI suggestions for veteran-friendly auto shops, two shops in Killeen were recommended; Eastern Auto was one of them.

I chose them in good faith because I like numbers and their process: you tell them the problem, they propose a solution and cost, and offer potential payment plans and financing sources you might not even know exist. It felt like going to a generous relative. Trying to save money, I ordered a remanufactured (non-new) engine. When the engine arrived, they discovered water crystals on the outside that had likely entered the engine, and the timing belt cover was missing. I didn’t know exactly what a missing cover meant, but I understood that water intrusion was bad. They told me they could install it, but warned the engine might fail soon and I’d be back to square one. That saved me about $5,000 in unnecessary uninstall/reinstall costs—they genuinely cared about my wallet.

After returning the engine and waiting for a refund, reordering, and installing a used engine, everything went well. A week later I got a text: “Your car is alive!” After seven months of Uber rides and losing thousands of dollars, I was thrilled to finally hear my car was ready with cold A/C—music to my ears. Then I had a noise while driving that was diagnosed as worn wheel bearings; they replaced them in two days. My A/C only needed a valve cap and a recharge, which they completed the same day during pickup in about an hour.

This was an auto shop experience that went very well. Thanks to Javier, the SME mechanic; Crystal, the autoshop “AI fairy godmother”; and owner Polo for putting together a dynamic, precise process that’s darn near flawless.

Comment : This is by far the best auto shop in the Killeen area. They are professionals and have the best of technology in fixing your car. I had a couple of lights on my dash board and they were able to clear it all out in one go and my car drives smoother than ever before.
