Comment : 2 Star – Misleading Diagnoses, Refused Refunds, and Predatory Quoting
As a young woman who recently moved to Sugar Land, finding an honest mechanic was a top priority. Because I am a AAA member, I decided to give this shop a chance for their AAA discount and advertised electrical expertise. My battery light was persistently blinking and staying on, and multiple people recommended I see an auto electrician.
My experience here was a complete nightmare:
Inaccurate Initial Diagnosis & Repair: They diagnosed my issue as needing a battery terminal fix. Trusting their expertise, I paid $300 on the spot to get it resolved.
The Problem Persisted Immediately: The exact same day I drove off the lot, the battery light came right back on.
Inflated Costs & Second Inaccurate Diagnosis: I brought the car back the next day and waited over an hour. This time, they claimed it was a completely different issue costing around $1,500.
Refusal to Take Accountability: When I pointed out that their initial $300 diagnosis was wrong and asked for a refund for the misdiagnosis and wasted time, the employee completely dodged the question, stating, "Well, you would have had to get that fixed anyways."
Predatory Upselling: During the visit, they performed a AAA multi-point inspection and quoted me over $3,500 in additional repairs.
(Also the sitting area is okay but uncomfortable after a long wait time)
When I took my car to actual electrical professionals, I discovered that both diagnoses from this shop were completely wrong. Paying $1,800+ here would have never fixed the actual issue. Furthermore, second opinions on their $3,500+ inspection list revealed that some of those items didn't even need fixing.
As a woman navigating auto repairs, this is precisely the type of predatory behavior people warn you about. They misdiagnose issues, take your money, refuse accountability, and try to sell thousands in unnecessary repairs. Save your time, money, and sanity; go anywhere else.
What was good you may ask? Having a AAA membership helps because you will receive a discount. Also, minor repairs can most likely be done here without worry. I would not trust this company with major electrical repairs/diagnosing.
