I lost connection on my end and when I tried calling back and asking for said manager I was told nobody by that name existed in the service departments management team. I was going to bite the bullet and try them again since they're local but when I'm having issues and being lied to before I even get there, no thanks. I'd rather take both my Jeep and my Ram to the Ford dealer for service than this place. When I called to check the status of the vehicle and confirm the price, I originally spoke with Brittany and she confirmed it was available and confimed the website price $77,090. Other than that she could not answer other questions I had and said she would have Kristen call me to answer the other questions. Kristen called and also confirmed availability and price ($77,090). I told them from the get go that I would finance through my bank, and not through them. Kristen texted me a picture of the quote without mentioning a "different" price if I did not finance through them which came out to $82,426.25 (includes tax). Asked about the $995 accessory charge added for "Polysteel". She informed that its a protective coating they put on all new vehicles that come to their dealership. If that's the case and it's not an option for the customer, it should be included in the price of the vehicle. I tried to get her to take off the $995 since Ram has a warranty on their paint. She said she didn't have permission to make that call and she would get me with the General Manager Derek. I received a call from Derek and it was not a pleasant experience. He was rude and arrogant about the Polysteel charge and then proceeded to tell me if I didn't finance through them, then the price of the vehicle would be $84,426.25. He was very obvious about wanting to get the "extra kickbacks" from the manufacturer. He was not willing to work with me at all on price or taking off the polysteel. As soon as I hung up, I decided I wouldn't deal with them for a new truck. I gave it 2 weeks and contacted a local dealer that tried their hardest to get me that truck or something very similar with no luck. So I choked down my pride and texted Kristen. I told her I wanted that truck, and I was willing to spend the extra 2k, but I would in no way deal with Derek. She said she would work with that and from there we made a plan. I flew 1500 miles for this truck and when I "walked" the truck to check for any imperfections I noticed a quarter inch scratch on the drivers door. Kristen then spoke with Mark (sales manager) and with a bit of an attitude from him, he decided to get me a touch-up pen and remove the polysteel charge off the price. In the end, Tony (finance manager) was a champ and Kristen was too. Overall, things could have run smoother in my opinion. And to the owners of Couglin CJDR, I would highly recommend a more personable person for the General Manager position.My initial experience was not great. Absolutely a stand-up guy and a great manager! This has changed my 1 star to a 5 star! He listened to what I had to say and asked me what they could do to make it right. I would be happy to do business here again!I will start this off by saying this review is solely about Mark the sales manager! The finance guy and Kristen, my sales rep was beyond an experience to work with! NOW on to Mark! We started the process 2 days before actually signing our deal. During the finance portion we were going over the cost of the new truck. After looking at the numbers I informed the finance guy that the numbers did not match the online price I agreed to 2 days before and again the day before when we test drove the truck! When I questioned this, Mark told us sorry about your luck we are out of coupons and this is the new price! He also informed me that the price was right all the way up till half way through the day and it just changed and I should have "done the paperwork sooner" in which we informed him that we would have had they had anyone in the store the night before to do our financing! They had one guy doing paperwork for both dealerships. My thought was I don't have to get this done tonight and we will come back tomorrow when they have the people there to do the paperwork! He was completely unprofessional! He was probably the most rude person I have ever dealt with at a dealership in my life! I also talked to him a couple of months ago as well about a truck I was interested in and he spoke to me like I was incompetent! Talking to me like a child when telling me how negative equity works.Kristen was a joy! I will send anyone to see her in the future that is looking for a ride! She was always super busy but made time to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of! Kudos to her work ethic! SHE NEVER SLOWED DOWN! I greatly appreciate all her hard work and effort! I also feel really bad for her that after the ordeal in the finance office I could hear Mark ripping her a new one about why she didn't inform us about the price increase! At which point she informed him we tried to get the paperwork done the night before and couldn't do it due to lack of help! I will modify the stars of this review if any management reaches out to us and makes this right! I will not remove the comments about Mark but I will still boost Kristen and praise her for the hard work she put into making my experience the best possible! Thank you again Kristen!
