Prestin Williams was the best salesman that I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He listened to what we wanted and helped us find the perfect car. We did not expect to trade in our car yesterday much less drive away in a brand new car! I would highly reccomend him for all your car needs! The techs couldn't find a very common problem and solution that I took my car in for. The service has been very, very poor and this is not the first time.Be wary of dealing with this location, I feel like I've been scammed.I took my car in for recalls and to have it serviced because it was stalling when idled and in drive, the engine would die but the power stayed on and the following startup was rough with poor acceleration. I live an hour out of town. They had my car for a week which at the time was understandable and I managed. While they had it I was told that they could not recreate the stalling issue, but they had found some other issues. They explained the issues to me and asked me to okay the work to fix them. I greenlit the work to be done. Roughly $650.Whithin minutes of leaving the lot with my car, the issues that were supposedly resolved started to appear again. The things I was told were fixed that have presenting warnings appear to not have been fixed. After such a hefty bill I'm frustrated. Within the next week I was able to recreate my car stalling issue twice. The same issue that I was told by Michael at the service desk that the KIA techs could not replicate. I gave him a call and he was apologetic but largely unhelpful and he told me that his manager would give me a call. This has not happened, its been more than one business week. Am I shocked that either Michael didn't give his manager my number, or that his manager just decided not to call me? No. This is my second experience with this particular service department and the other was almost as frustrating and horrible.Ultimately I Googled the symptoms my car was having and within the first page was able to find that it is most likely the Crankshaft Position Sensor. I got the part number, ordered it (OEM on Amazon or ebay motors, $40 cheaper than buying from KIA) and thanks to the numerous videos on youtube showing this common problem with KIA vehicles I was able to have it fixed within an hour. I have since been unable to replicate the issue.I always hesitate to throw the techs under the bus, in my experience dealing with these people its usually a top-down issue, and they've been told to do certain things a certain way. I am very concerned however that they were unable to replicate the issue, and that someone as automotively ignorant as myself was able to fix a very common problem in KIA vehicles that the KIA service department was unaware of. It really was so simple to find and fix.With claimed fixed issues appearing to not be fixed its hard to not feel like I was scammed. Dealing with car sales people already feels slimy and uncomfortable enough, it seems that reputation also extends to the folks in the service department. My first attempt was less than satisfactory. However, the second time was the charm. I went over my issues with the Service Department and gave them a written list of items I needed resolved. I dropped my car off Monday and picked it up Thursday with all my concerns resolved. Michael in Service was very professional. He kept me updated with Text messages about my car. The waiting area in the service department was very clean, comfortable, and well stocked for refreshments. The Service Manager made sure I was happy and repairs were made. I got a detailed print out of the work and security recall completed. It was my first experience at this KIA Classic dealership. I would recommend it to anyone.
