Comment : Blew out the rear end on my truck. Drive shaft came out of differential it apparently needed a full rebuild on the rear end. I was quoted $8500 for my 1999 ford f250. Paid them in full with a few days of dropping it off after paying half up front. Kept my truck for over 2 weeks, drove back down to LA and it was leaking everywhere from the rear end. They then sent me to a few different shops which no one would fix or touch it. Then they told me to just drive it back and would compensate me $200 in gas, and repair it again. Sat up there all day from 8am until about 4pm which means I left LA around 4am to get there by the time they opened. They test drove it after fixing it and said it was good. Which it wasn't. I could see oil leaking from the rear end and they told me it's going to have some "seepage" which is bullshit. I told them it looks like it's still leaking, they told me no it's fine to drive home to LA. Drove it back down to LA where I live and it was leaking again. They just used some cheap seal on the differential cover, no gasket and sealer. It's now at another shop they recommended and it's been there for almost 2 weeks. I've been without my work truck for well over 2 months. What a complete waste of time and money with them. Did t compensate my time or gas driving to the different places in LA to have it looked at. This place is very half-ass in my opinion. NOT RECOMMENDED at all. Unfortunately it was the closest option when the original incident happened.

Comment : The service at Meinwke Car Care Center is amazing! We have taken our vehicles in a few times, and Christopher along with all the other employees have always been extremely polite, and any concern they call and explain exactly what is going on with our car, and what needs to be done to replace it, how much it will be. If you are looking for a shop for general maintenance, or if you are having a problem with your vehicle, I highly recommend them!

Comment : This car shop is a rip off! Went for a spark plug and throttle body clean and charged for almost $900 service! I would NOT highly recommend!

Comment : Received a coupon in the mail from Meineke with the address of the Santa Maria Meineke. The coupon said 10% discount for Active Military and Veterans as well as First Responders. After spending over $2K on repairs and service, I was told they don't honor the coupons they mail out and they would not honor the military discount. I can get past the no military discount but to mail out a coupon that says 10% discount and not to honor it is a different story. There was also a small discount for booking online but didn't get that either. I was told that since that Meineke is independently owned the don't honor the coupons that are sent out by corporate. That's a big foul. I for one will never take any of my cars there again.

Comment : I went in for front steering tie rods and transmission flush. Front counter guy very helpful, friendly and set up an appointment. Car went in and out on time as promised. However, a few days later I am at another garage for some other work. They lifted the car and show me that the clamps that go on my steering boots are just dangling around the tie rod. On both sides! Called Meineke. They told me they wouldn't have touched the clamps. Obviously they did! It didn't look like any grease had leaked out so I had the other shop attach them properly. I doubt Meineke's quality of work if the technician can't see that he left clamps on BOTH sides hanging in plain site. Makes me wonder if they messed up the transmission flush too which I can't see.

Comment : Brakes that were replaced on Jan. 29 started making a noticeable grinding noise. A return trip to this shop in Aug. 24 showed the rear brakes wearing at an angle and replaced. They would not confirm if the the pads were faulty or if the installation was. I had 124,000on my original brakes so I'm no nascar racer. Now they are making that same grinding noise and while my car is being serviced elsewhere, I'm waiting for the results of the inspection on them. The only reason I first went to this shop in the first place was for the affordable oil changes. However, after one oil change in May, I had to return because they failed to replace the oil plug gasket. Mechanics 101, always replace gaskets. On April 25, a check engine light brought me in for a #3 coil misfire. Services done, all plugs but only one coil replaced. Since then the light has come on 3 more times. I was told it wasn't cleared from the computers "memory".Today, with that same light on, my car sputtered a bit. I took it to a Mazda dealership. Now #4 was misfiring, all coils should've been replaced, the plugs did NOT look new and the coil in #3 looked used or defective.Needless to say I won't be returning to this shop EVER. Can't even do an oil change right and I question their honesty. Don't go there unless you plan on going back...and back...and back again.
