The building is very clean and the staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. I also can?t rave enough about the pricing here it?s better than alot of places I?ve been so definitely will keep coming back and always the first place I recommend. Always feel good knowing my vehicles are taken care of the right way. I received a text estimate of $455 to replace the battery. I knew that wasn?t the underlying problem so I called them and was told the battery was stone cold dead and they couldn?t continue trouble shooting until it was replaced (a sophisticated auto repair shop doesn?t have a spare battery to temp place in a vehicle to finish troubleshooting it?) Regardless, I objected to spending that much for a battery that runs $150 and takes 10-15 min to replace. I was given the impression that it was a difficult job as the battery was located underneath the back seat. I told them to roll it out to the parking lot and I would replace it myself that night. It is not difficult. $132 for an Interstates battery with a 36 month warrantee and 15 minutes by flashlight I had it replaced.They continued their ?troubleshooting? the next day and I was again given a text quote for $644 to replace a Mass Airflow Sensor. It?s $179 for a genuine GM part and takes 5 minutes to replace. My buddy gave me a lift to O?REILLY auto parts, I spent $119 on an aftermarket MAF sensor. Stopped at Christian Brothers and told them their prices were unreasonably high and that I wanted to pick up my car. I was told that the repair quotes ?were all in the system?. I told them they needed to check their system.I don?t believe they did any troubleshooting but rather just hooked up a scanner and got a code that says the MAF sensor was bad. I say that because I stopped at AutoZone some weeks back and got the same code off their scanner report for free. I paid them their $118 for the ?diagnostic? work they did and drove my car down the road to the Walmart parking lot, my buddy disconnected the battery while I removed the two screws, popped off the electrical connector and put the new MAF sensor in, he hooked the battery back up and it started right back up. LITERALLY a $119 part and 5 minute job and they were going to charge me $644!So my check engine light went out but guess what, the car still stalled out on the way home and wouldn?t start. Had to park it for a few hours to cool off before finishing the trip. It seems to only happen when the engine is good and hot.So all in all I would have sunk $1100 into the repair if I had agreed to their fixes and would still have a broken car.Extremely overpriced.The best thing I can say is that they are very prompt and very polite.Update- I used ChatGPT to troubleshoot the problem. I fed it all the symptoms and what had previously been done by the shop. It pointed me to the crankcase position sensor. It was a $40 AC/Delco part, some rental tools from AutoZone and about 4-5 hours of work (something I?ve never done before but can follow a YouTube video). Even threw a new crankshaft seal in since I had it torn apart that far (another $20).We?re now 1200 miles post fix with no additional problems. I was told a diagnostic charge of $119.95 could be used toward any repairs I agreed to do. This was a lie. Also, their repair charges of $8,200 are much higher than other shops in the area. I declined the repairs and took my car to another shop, where I was charged $2,200 for the same repairs. Save money! Do business elsewhere, and don?t let the ?Christian? name deceive you to think they can be trusted. Montgomery, AL Reviewed : 03/04/2026 Comment : This was the first visit to Christian Brothers Automotive Westinghouse Road. I made an appointment and requested oil change, state inspection, air and cabin air filters. Dropped the car off and meet with Lance the Service manager. Gave me an estimate and told me they would contact be when vehicle was ready as well as send me updates which it was being service. They sent me texts letting me know the vehicle was in the shop, it passed inspection, oil was changed using synthetic oil, waiting for cabin air filter. I had received a text with a photo letting me know that the engine air filter looked brand new. I usually keep track of things like that but fail to note that I had recently replaced the air filter, my error. When I picked up the vehicle, the air filter charge had been removed. The service was outstanding. If you are looking for a professional, honest, competent, friendly auto service shop, choose CBA, you will be pleasantly surprised.
