I thought it was going to be beyond repair. Speaking with Service Advisor Nick McCann, he ensured me that he would make sure the right people were on the job. I felt like I had brought my vehicle to my best friends shop and was confident that I was in good hands. Service technician Dylan was the mechanic who did the repairs to my vehicle, and he is certainly a professional. My car was repaired in a matter of days, and I was astonished. This shop has a great team of professionals and the customer service they provide is above and beyond. Highly recommended. Quoted me at ~$680 for replacing just the front brake pads/rotors, or $900 to replace brake fluid as well. I took our car to a local mechanic and he charged $350 to replace front and rear brake pads, changed the rotors, and told me he didn't know why I was there because the brake pads were only worn down to about 50% and didn't need to be replaced any time soon. Absolutely reprehensible and predatory behavior.Took my car in for an oil change, the mechanic/inspector told me the brake pads were worn down to 90% and needed immediate replacing. I went here for an inspection. During this they tried to show me that my battery needed to be replaced. This surprised me as I hadn't had trouble with the battery yet and that the battery was only two years old. I've owned this kind of car before, I'm familiar with the parts lifespan and cost. They tried to quote me almost $400 for a v12 battery. I know for a fact I can go down to an O'Reilly for a forth of the price and they will install it for you. They apparently tried to pull the same thing on an older gentleman there at the same time. One of the employees did not look too pleased with us when we both agreed about going to an O'Reilly instead if we really had needed to.The inspection got done but that left a bad taste in my mouth. So this was my first experience with the place. We had the AC replaced on my older car. About a week later, I was down in Friendswood for work, and the car started overheating. I took it to the CB down there and they found that a sensor that was part of the AC system was malfunctioning and causing the problem. They also said they replace that part when they swap ACs out, but for some reason, this location doesn't. The Friendswood CB went above and beyond, the manager personally getting parts they didn't have on site because I was stranded and wouldn't be able to pick my kids up from school if my car wasn't repaired in time.If this location had done the standard work instead of leaving original parts of a car that was over a decade old, I wouldn't be out the additional service charge to replace the defective part and wouldn't have been stranded over forty miles from my kids. The other thing that happened was when my clutch started slipping. I got an estimate from this shop that was prohibitively expensive we'd have to sell the car for the parts bc the cost for repairs couldn't be justified against the value of the vehicle and when I questioned the price and what I had seen when I was looking online, the guy laughed in my face and said he couldn't get parts inside the range I'd found in my research. I kind of understood because Googling doesn't make me a mechanic, but his tone was incredibly patronizing and he laughed in my face.I asked another question where I casually mentioned my husband and his whole demeaner changed. He said this cryptic thing about how when I come in, I need to tell them it's my husband's car, and they'll know how to take better care of me.I supose that could have just be him trying to make sure they don't end up with duplicate accounts on vehicles, but it seemed like they should have been able to catch that with the VIN. It's hard not to come away with the impression that he padded the estimate to a ridiculous degree because he clocked me as a single woman who didn't have a man to do the hard thinking for her.I shopped around after getting recomendations for friends and family, and we paid less than half the CB estimate for the repair elsewhere, much less than he claimed the parts alone cost. If i get a response from the owners, they're probably going to say the cost difference was because they get real parts and not after-market parts, but that was not the case. I cannot think of a good, honest reason for the estimate they gave me.After these experiences, I would rather tow my car all the way back to the CB in Friendswood than return to this location.I had a few bad experiences with this location from about a year ago that I didn't think to review then.
