Comment : Today I placed a visit to Christian Brothers Automotive at the West Galleria location and it will be my last time. I brought in my vehicle for a power steering flush. I didn’t wait long but it makes sense now as to why I didn’t have a long wait time. After I paid, I began to drive my vehicle and this loud screeching noise began whenever I would turn my wheel, it was NOT making this noise prior. I called them and they stated to return. Tech IC, told the representative after he test drove my vehicle in the parking lot that he did not hear any noise, I told him I wouldn’t be back here if that was the case. The tech said he would test drive it on the road and I said, I’ll accompany him. Sure enough, the noise was loud enough to hear and he said oh yeah, I can hear it now “coincidentally,” but a few minutes ago you told him you did not hear any noise. We return to the shop and he told me he would redo a power steering flush to assure everything is fine. Not even 5 minutes later, I see the car coming back and the representative from the front desk tells me that it’s “normal” for the power steering system to have air in the system. Be mindful, I have gotten a power steering flush before at a ASE certified shop and this is not normal. They basically wanted to me to simply leave as I was telling the front desk representative what if the noise does not stop? He then says, just come back but that is what I did and you simply refused any accountability of the wrong doing. I even questioned the tech, didn’t you just tell me you were going to complete another flush of the power steering system and he refused to answer me. I understand my vehicle is an older model vehicle but every vehicle needs to be handled as if it were yours. The past three times I brought in my vehicle, I had great experiences. I was recommended to this shop by a former tech but was shocked with todays visit. I then inspected the area the tech IC worked on and was shocked but not surprised by what I discovered. The cover was damaged and the clip for the cover itself was missing as shown on the image. The tech spilled power steering fluid all over the area he worked on as you’ll see on the images, and did not even bother cleaning the mess he created, extremely unprofessionalism displayed by tech. Honestly, I don’t even know if they actually completed the service I was charged for. I would not recommend this shop to anyone, especially if you have an older model vehicle, these will be your results! Be mindful, this shop is #1 in guest satisfaction by J.D. Power, but this was not the case today.
UPDATE: I ended up receiving a call from the manager who wasn’t helpful originally to inform me that they had issued a refund. However, this was done because I also filed a complaint with the better business bureau (BBB). If I wouldn’t have done so, who knows if they would have attempted to resolved the dilemma I experienced. Hopefully no customers have to resort to these measures to receive a resolution.
