I’m revising my previous 5-star review after a disappointing experience with complex diagnostic work.

What happened: Over 6 weeks, I brought my 2016 GMC Acadia in four times for the same recurring symptoms: hesitation, warning lights, and sputtering. Christian Brothers replaced the purge valve ($257), brake light switch and cleaned the throttle body ($660), and replaced all engine mounts ($928). Total: nearly $1,900.

The problems continued. After the fourth visit, I took my vehicle to a GMC dealership who diagnosed it immediately: my husband had previously replaced a part with an aftermarket component that the computer couldn’t recognize.

The issue: Christian Brothers knew from day one that my husband had done a recent DIY repair. Checking part compatibility should have been part of their diagnostic process, especially after multiple failed attempts.

Bottom line: Christian Brothers is excellent for routine maintenance—oil changes, inspections, and minor repairs. Their customer service is outstanding. However, based on my own experience and feedback from other customers, they struggle with complex diagnostics.

They did offer a 50% refund on the engine mount replacement and reimbursed me for 2 days rental vehicle while my Acadia sat at their shop for 2 days untouched, which I appreciated. But the diagnostic failure cost me significant money, time, aggravation and ultimately my trust in their ability to handle complicated issues.

My recommendation: Great for routine work. For complex problems, consider a dealership or specialist.

5-Star Service That Goes Above & Beyond!

I recently switched to Christian Brothers Automotive from my longtime garage, and I couldn’t be happier. The level of customer service at Christian Brothers is like no other garage I’ve ever patronized, or any business in general for that matter! Whether in person or on the phone, everyone is always so polite and customer-focused.

When I was checking my car in last week for inspection and an oil change, I realized I had neglected to renew my registration. No problem! The gentleman at the counter renewed it for me right on the spot. He also printed a copy of my updated insurance card, provided my new registration, and even gave me a brand-new plastic protector to store my papers in my glove box.

Not only that, but when the courtesy driver dropped me off to pick up my vehicle, my Acadia was waiting for me at the front door! At my old garage, I had to walk down a steep hill and back a rocky driveway to get my vehicle. I walk with a cane, so that was never easy. But not at Christian Brothers!

Five-star customer service every time. I’ll definitely be back and will tell my friends!

Comment : Was lied to and told I have 5 days to fix repairs for failed inspection, Pennsylvania law is 30 days! Plus I was told my brakes were cracked, and they weren’t.

They took the time to explain everything clearly and kept me updated throughout the service. It's rare to find a shop that combines skill, transparency, and genuine kindness -- but they truly do.
