Comment : I’m writing this review to warn others, especially women, to be extremely cautious when taking your vehicle to Christian Brothers Automotive.

My close friend recently went in for a simple A/C issue, and instead of diagnosing the actual problem, they gave her a shocking quote of nearly $8,000. One of the biggest red flags was that they claimed she needed new fuel pumps and quoted her $2,913.56 for that alone.

She decided to get a second opinion, and thank goodness she did. The other shop thoroughly inspected her car and told her the fuel pumps were perfectly fine and did not need to be replaced. To fix the A/C problem and complete all necessary work they quoted her $3,200 total, less than half of what Christian Brothers quoted. If she hadn’t trusted her instincts, she could have been overcharged by thousands of dollars.

Another thing to watch out for: they sent her “video inspections” to justify the repairs, but clearly the video explanations didn’t align with what was truly needed. Don’t assume that just because something is presented in a video that it’s accurate or necessary.

This experience was incredibly distasteful and disappointing, it feels like the kind of situation where customers especially women can be taken advantage of. Always get a second opinion before agreeing to any major repairs and stay far away from this place!

Comment : Avoid if you can. They are severely overpriced. They wanted 900 plus for a speed sensor replacement on a Kia Forte. Quoted the nearest Kia dealership and they wanted less than 400.

Comment : I just moved to Texas so these guys inspected my vehicle for safety and emissions and also provided a courtesy inspection. Very fast, very friendly. I didn’t have any work performed on my vehicle, but definitely liked the vibe.

We decided to tell C/B Christian Brothers about our experience, so they could guide the mechanic. Both shops were using the same computer program for diagnosing car problems. The managers were interested and truly listened to us. They showed us why the mechanic chose the part did as the problem and they also refunded part of our bill. Very kind.
I would go there again, but I would not trust their new computer program of finding the problem. You have to watch, look things up on the internet, talk with friends. The fact they took the time to listen to us and really cared was a big plus. We might have stayed with them if we had brought our concerns up when he told us the part that needed to be replaced. We are not car mechanics and were not sure if we were right. Our son and husband did a lot of research. We only verified for sure that the PCM most likely was not the problem after we left C/B. PCM = Powertrain Control Module, if this went bad, you would most likely have other difficulties with your car.'>

Comment : Our A/C went out. Repairpal.com recommended Christian Brothers (C/B). They had a coupon for the Diagnostic which was nice. Made appointment, arrived for the appointment and they did not have us scheduled. Repairpal and C/B systems do not always sync up. C/B was very nice and took us anyway.
The diagnosis was A leak in a hose and our PCM (main computer part and very expensive. We disagreed with the PCM, based on everything we could find on the internet and friends. We asked them to repair the leak and refill the freon.
Paid the bill and drove the car 5 miles to another mechanic's shop. We told them we had replaced the old line and now our A/C was not working. They diagnosed the problem as leaks in a metal pipe with Straeker (not sure of spelling) valve, which also leaked, and a bad Compressor. They fixed those items, NOT THE PCM and the bill. Way less then the price for the PCM. We were not happy with C/B for trying to sell an expensive part that was not the actual problem.

Comment : This is the second Christian Brothers facility I have used. I cannot praise them enough for the friendliness of the staff and the prompt work. I walked in needing an emissions test and was out of there in 20 minutes. I have had mechanical work done at other times and I thought that the service was top-notch.
