Comment : Do not get your car serviced here if you value your vehicle. The repair turnaround time is extremely long, and aspects of the service process left me uncomfortable with how vehicle and keys are handled. I have witnessed concerns about the possibility of unauthorized access or key duplication after servicing. I would strongly advise others to use caution and consider alternative service locations.

Comment : Came in to get my car checked after I was rear-ended, and they made the whole process incredibly easy. They looked over my car right away, gave me a clear recommendation, and thankfully everything turned out to be okay. Even though it was a quick visit, they treated me with so much kindness that they’ve gained a customer for life.

Comment : ⭐ 1-Star Review – Extremely Disappointed with Caton Auto Clinic

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Caton Auto Clinic on Baltimore National Pike in Catonsville (21228). I told them exactly what I wanted done from the beginning: replace the timing chain and gears on my 2015 Equinox. Instead of honoring my request, they insisted on doing a diagnostic first—fine. I agree to pay over $250 for it.

After the diagnostic, they gave me an estimate for $2,800, which was already about $1,000 higher than expected, but I approved it anyway. Then this morning, I received a completely different quote for over $3,800, and nothing about the job had changed. The explanation? They said the original estimate “didn’t include the gears,” even though that was literally what I requested from the beginning and was stated on the original estimate.

I went up there to speak with the mechanic myself and look at the vehicle and even he confirmed that nothing changed from my original work request. Between the mechanic and the estimator, neither could clearly explain why the price suddenly jumped to almost $4,000. The whole situation made absolutely no sense.

To make matters worse, I specifically told them NOT to put the engine back together, because I planned to have a flatbed pick it up within the hour and bring it to my electrical shop. But when I called to coordinate the pickup, they told me they put it all back together anyway—directly against my instructions.

Red Flag.
Very shady business practices.
Requests to speak to the owner were ignored.

I would NOT take your vehicle here. Save yourself the frustration. There are plenty of honest shops in Catonsville—unfortunately, this is not one of them.

Comment : Brought my car in for Maryland State inspection. Due to the numerous problems with the car Caton Auto was in constant communication with me via text. Not only did they provide documentation of the problems I was able to give approvals and also pay my bill thru website. Due to their limited business hours, they provide a kiosk to collect my keys and bill after hours.
