Comment : I strongly believe this is the worst shop to go to and deal with. What an absolute nightmare. They had good reviews but the more I asked around after the fact, the more I found out how big of crooks these guys are known to be, unfortunately I found out after they got me.
Firstly, I was looking for a shop in tiffin because that's where my wife works and I could get a ride back and forth when without a vehicle. I know a guy who works at CARS (great dude), so I figured I wouldn't get taken advantage of. I was wrong.
I was only able to talk to the owner over the phone, since I couldn't be there during office hours, with my work schedule. We would leave keys in the truck, pay with card over the phone. He told me I needed new fuel lines and fuel pump, power steering and radiator hoses with flush, oil change, and an exhaust. Some sensors needed done too but those aren't super pertinent to the story.
The bill was over 2k, $500 was the exhaust (which stated on bill 'new exhaust from the engine back'). I agreed to his price and he did the work. I paid over the phone with a card, this transaction went fine. When I went to pick it up, it was dark out, but I trusted them enough to drive it home, it had no lights on and drove great. I took it home and let it sit for a couple weeks, as I had gotten very busy at work. When I finally got to look at it, I realized he only replaced a muffler on my exhaust. I called and asked, he said he'd have to look at it to confirm, and that I don't know what I'm looking at. Ok. So again, I had to drive it to tiffin after hours, get a ride back. Just inconvenient. I didn't hear from him the next day, so I called him. He told me they replaced from the muffler back (they didn't, exhaust tip was same and rusty), and that I misunderstood what he meant on the bid, and refused to talk about any refund. I chalked it up as a loss.
The next month I fell on hard times and decided to sell the truck. I included the CARS receipt with the sale to prove the work. The first guy showed up, and checked the oil (yes its on me that I never did, but again, I was trusting). It was 3 quarts low and completely black. The coolant reservoir was also empty, and I paid for a coolant system flush, they just didn't refill it all the way. Oil filter looked almost original. I paid for a fuel line flush and check, there were two parts of the intake line with leaks, obviously not replaced. I had only put 62 miles on the truck since the service date. I got a good enough cash offer on the truck and just sold it, since this headache has been almost too much for me, and didn't want to wait around for this shop to put me through the loop again, or fight me over what I understand. But I am leaving my review and experience as a warning for others. Turns out I paid $2100 for a new muffler, 2 oxygen sensors, and a coolant hose. What a rip!
