He looked me dead in the eye and said, "Who knows. We see this a lot with women drivers"

As a male, I think this was his was his passive aggressive way of trying to offend me. It did not offend me, but ridiculous nonetheless.

If anything I am more sad that I can not continue to support my local neighborhood business and will have take my car somewhere else from now on.

If I were you I would take your's elsewhere also, so you don't find yourself making multiple trips here.'>

Comment : Done after 9 years of loyalty- Been using Brookside 66 for 9 years. Try to support local neighborhood and small businesses. I took my car in for 60k routine maintenance and tune up. As well as new breaks. A few days later I noticed a loud popping sound when turning the vehicle. Took it back and was told there was nothing wrong.

A few weeks later the popping was worse and when I would break I would hear/feel a grinding sound.

Took it back and was told I needed new front rods and they were rotted. How they did not find this issue on my 60k work or my subsequent return I am unsure. But had been using them for years and trusted them. Paid another 2,500 for new rods.

A few weeks later I noticed the grinding and popping sound again. Took it back. Was told it was a walnut in the tire well and watch out for pesky squirrels. Still hearing the grinding and popping, I returned. They inspected it then called to tell me nothing wrong. I pushed back and asked them to check again and to drive then turn into a parking spot themselves. 30 mins later they called me back and said I had a MAJOR safety issue with a ball bearing in tire. How they had not isolated this on previous trips is beyond me. They stressed this was a serious safety issue. I was perplexed but also grateful I asked them to triple check. I paid them another 2,9000 dollars to fix. When questioning them at pick up they insinuated I had had an accident and did not tell them. Why in the world would I keep that from them or lie about it?

A few weeks later the initial popping sound returned. I knew that popping sound would lead to the grinding when breaking issues I had experienced before. I took it back today and they confirmed the ball bearing was the issue and it was loose. To their credit the did fix (I hope) free of charge. They then insinuated it was operator error and I have "been turning my car too hard and violently".

I've been driving for 30 years and have been driving that car for 10. When I asked them how that could be the case and why after 30 years of driving, for the past 6 weeks why would I all of a sudden start turning my car too violently.

He tried telling me it was always $1,300, as if I'm stupid and just misheard him. I again said "No, we spoke on the phone yesterday, and YOU told me it was $1,000." I ended up having my dad call them since he's worked in that industry for decades. He was able to talk him down to $1,100 -- which is still not the original price we agreed to.

Then, when I showed up to get my car, this man had the nerve to chuckle and say "You're dad struck a deal." What deal? That I still got swindled into paying $100 more? Do NOT go here. I will never go here again, and I will never recommend this place to anyone.

I think it's disgusting when businesses screw people over like this. I'm sure I'm not the first and likely won't be the last, but hopefully I can help prevent someone else from falling victim to this place.'>

Comment : Do NOT go here. I spoke with Greg and we agreed to a price of $1,000 to replace my starter, including $90 for the diagnostic test. When I called the next morning, he tells me they replaced some other part as well, even though no one had asked my permission to do so. He said it was only $56 (another lie -- I was charged $110 for the gasket that didn't need to be replaced), but then he told me the total was $1,356. I said "No, we agreed to $1,000."

Comment : I scheduled online the day before, that was super easy. My appointment for the next day was quickly confirmed and they sent me an email. I was able to get there during the drop off time and they got my car in and out in under 30 minutes. I just needed an ID/OD. They were super kind and courteous and the entire process was painless!
