Comment : Ugh. This is the BMW dealer closest to my house, and I intend on avoiding it so long as I have my 4-series. I bought a certified used 430i two weekends ago from an OC BMW dealer. I needed all weather floor mats for it. So, I decided to go to the dealer maybe two miles from my house. Makes sense, right?

I ordered front and rear all weather mats on 12/26 and was told to pick them up on Monday since they were coming from Valencia. Sounds good, thanks so much.

I walk into the dealer Monday morning and a different parts guy couldn't find my service ticket at first, despite me paying for the parts in advance. This is because the guy who took my order inputted the service ticket incorrectly. Then, Employee #2 lets me know that Employee #1 not only f*cked my order form up, but my mats aren't even in the store yet. Classic. Employee #2 lets me pick up the mats for the rear seats of my car, which are in stock, and Employee #2 (I think Carlos?) is so kind that I can't bear to give the whole place one star.

While ALL this is happening, my parents are test driving some X2's and X3's for my mom. The sales guy they interfaced with didn't ask for their names (etiquette 101?) and couldn't figure out that masks cover your mouth and your nose (way to go kid!). The guy did not know the difference between X3M's and X3M40is, and when my mom asked what type of sound system was in the car he said "BMW" (thank you, but we wanted to know if it was Harman-Kardon, etc.). Needless to say she didn't get her new car from here.

I genuinely think that this dealer is just located in an affluent enough area where it's okay if the showroom is disgusting/there's no parking and if sales/service staff are snooty at worst and empathetic but lost at best. It's interesting to me that BMW Vista (also owned by the same dealer group as BMW Encinitas) and BMW Escondido are in traditionally less "old money" areas and have beautiful showrooms with lovely people that introduce themselves when you pull up (and plenty of parking)!

Comment : Found a beautiful used BMW sport wagon at this dealership - since I was from out of town I had a local friend go over and test drive the car.   After a glowing review from my friend I texted with the salesperson, Jack, saying I was interested and wanted to talk numbers...he responded with a terse "price is firm".  A day later, I found a comparable car at BMW of Beverly Hills and let Jack know that another dealership was willing to work with me...his verbatim answer was "Yeah you'll have to go with other.  Unfortunately we are set at the price we have.  No way for us to move on ours.  Is the other at a reputable dealer?  M certified?"  - less than 5 days later they discounted the car $1,000.  Will never do business with this group - typical car dealership dishonesty.  Take the drive to Beverly Hills BMW.

Comment : Well, here it is, my first ever negative review.

I purchased my BMW from BMW Encinitas brand new a few years back.  They have done all the service and recalls up to this point and I've been very happy with the service.

Recently, I was informed my car needed a set of new injectors as part of a BMW recall.  Ok, another recall that I have to take time out of my day to take care of, it is what it is.

I call the service department in advance and schedule a 12pm drop off time and reserve a loaner car.

I live 45 minutes away from the dealership but still decided to drive to Encinitas because they have been good to me in the past.

Once I get there, I walk into the service department and the advisor starts telling me the recall repair is going to take a few hours so usually people reserve loaners.  I told him I had indeed reserved a loaner.  Yes, he says, unfortunately we have run out of loaners.  Lmao! WTF?  He says it is best to get to the dealership early in the morning to get one of the loaners.  What?  Then why bother with the reservation?  The SA continues and says that he can offer me a Lyft.  Ok, that's great except I have a bunch of business to take care of all over town and I need a car.

Anyway, the bottom line is I did not get my recall done.  I took my car keys and left.  There is nothing I hate more than having my time wasted.  My solution is that I simply will not be going back for any service or purchases nor will I recommend BMW Encinitas to anyone I know.  Not a big deal to me, BMW Encinitas is not the only game in town.

Comment : I Hope there is a zero star.

Most horrible customer service. Every thing is good before you buying the car. But after that, you can't find them anymore.

I bought the maintenance service from them. The second day, i asked them for more information about those service, no response at all. I want to cancel this service, and tried several times. Either no response, or they will give you an excuse, like we will call you later, or we will send you document later. Then they will hangup your phone and no followup at all.

Comment : I gave Encinitas BMW 4 Stars for mixed reasons. I recently purchased a used BMW 650i from Encinitas BMW. I had been casually browsing the internet for a late model M6 coupe with low mileage and a decent price without much luck (BMW only imported about 50 M6 coupes for sale in the US each year). So I decided to look for a 650i coupe instead.

The good part: I was surprised to see Encinitas BMW had one (they mostly deal in new BMWs). The car was immaculate and fit all my requirements - it had the M Series package and the Luxury package (the original window sticker was tucked in with the car manual and indicated that it went for almost $110,000 when purchased new).

Now for the bad part. I made an appointment with a specific salesperson to see the car, who said the car could not be seen until the following week because it had to be detailed and some final services needed to be performed. When I arrived the following week, I was told the salesperson was not working that day and the car wasn't ready to be shown (the aforementioned service had not been done to the vehicle) and it was at a different location (due to space restrictions, Encinitas BMW keeps many of its cars at several satellite lots). So I made a second appointment (with the same salesperson) for the following week, giving adequate time to ready the vehicle.

Upon arrival, there were no salespeople to be found - none. After waiting 15 minutes I went into the individual offices looking for someone (there was no receptionist). I finally called the dealership from the showroom and told them I was waiting and that there were no salespeople. After another wait, a salesperson came out and told me the salesperson with whom I had the appointment had the day off. This salesperson, Nicolas M., said he would assist me. Nicolas informed me that the car was still at a different location.

When the car arrived, it was clear that final servicing (oil change, etc.) had not been performed nor had the detailing. So I waited an hour while this was done.

Regardless of the initial sales experience, I really wanted this car. So I bought it. I hate rewarding underserving businesses with my patronage, but there just aren't many late model 650i coupes with low mileage available (BMW ceased manufacturing the 6-Series in 2018 and replaced it with the 8-Series). The car is fantastic and looks and performs like a new car.

I will say that the salesperson who did assist me, Nicolas M., was very attentive and knowledgeable. In fact, his after-sale service was above and beyond what I expected. The car came with one key fob (I understand that this is not unusual for a used car). Nicolas contacted the prior owner (who had traded the car in) and inquired as to whether they still had the second key fob - he ended up obtaining it and overnighted it to me (he told me had they not had the fob, he would have supplied a new one at no cost). He also handled my follow-up calls regarding other matters, e.g., the Bluetooth code. In the end, Nicolas' good service outweighed the poor service. Unfortunately, there's no guarantee you'll get a salesperson as attentive and professional as him *(see below).

Ultimately, all businesses have a bad day and my visit may have been one. The reason I mention this is because it is difficult to reconcile my initial poor service with the subsequent excellent sales experience I had with Nicolas.

The overall sales experience has somewhat colored the way I view Encinitas BMW and I have not decided whether to use it for servicing my car. Many friends have told me that the service department is run well and provides excellent service (many online reviews also rate the service department as excellent). I have a regular service and oil change due soon and will decide then.

*Again, kudos to Nicolas whose professionalism really made me stop and reevaluate Encinitas BMW when I began writing this review. If I had only dealt with Nicolas, I would have rated Encinitas BMW 6 Stars - he's that good at his job. If Nicolas had not been the one who helped me, I would have given 1-2 Stars. When added up, I arrived at 4 Stars

Comment : We are the market for a new car and have been making our rounds to local car dealers.  This is usually the part I dread where we have to deal with aggressive or cheesy  sales people. Then we met David! He didn't use the usual pressure tactics and was professional yet endearing.  We ended up buying a car somewhere else, but recommend you give David a try if you need a car.

Comment : I've read many reviews on this dealership, some 5 stars and some excoriating. Tends to make one believe that the 5 star-reviews are manipulated.
Well, let me tell you our experience just this week ( December 2020).
We were after an X7  M50i Dark Shadow Edition. At Crevier in Irvine they tried to charge us 20k over sticker for it because it's rare.
I called Sarah at Encinitas on the phone. I asked the price.
" Sticker" I said I'd drive from Laguna Niguel but no surprises! She agreed.
Next day, drove down, tested drove the car( Crevier insisted we drive another ( white) one).
Asked for the deal.
Steve, manager, comes out.
" Normally we'd be looking for a surcharge over sticker BUT... I believe Sarah told you no and so we will honor our word"
Here's another kicker:-
" Did they tell you at the other dealer about our December incentives ?"
" No".
Long story short, GOT 3 K OFF!!!

Yes, that's 23k difference on a 120k car for driving 45 minutes
They were professional, courteous and reliable from A to Z here at Encinitas.
And more importantly- HONEST!

Off the charts.

Comment : My lease was maturing, and I had previously contacted Jordan Anguiano a little while ago regarding purchasing a car. So when December came around gave him a call and he not only remember who I was but the exact car that I was looking for. During the entire process Jordan was very respectful, and professional. He made sure that we were taken care of before moving on to doing anything else. We were able to make a great deal on the car that not only I wanted, but could not find at another dealership and decided that it was absolutely worth the long drive to go and purchase the car.

Once we got there all the everything was smooth sailing, and as an added plus everyone was wearing masks with signs posted to let the customers know that it is enforced. I would also like the time to give Steve Sawyer the sales manager a major shoutout as he helped with putting the amazing numbers together for the 2021 M340. He was absolutely understanding and was willing to work with me.

Usually my least favorite part is going through finance, but Andrew wood made it a breeze. Super outgoing, funny, and got straight to business and got us out of there faster than I had anticipated.

Overall it was an amazing experience, I had bought my previous two cars from a different BMW dealership but BMW Encinitas should be your go to dealership for a BMW and Jordan is your guy! They also have the most amount of M cars in a lot I have ever seen which was mind boggling to say the least. So to the staff I would like to say thank you!

Comment : Had a great experience here. My CA Nick was casual and not too pushy.  Glad I came here. Not a killer deal on my lease but they worked with me to get a fair deal. Service really matters these days. Had a really bad experience at a previous dealership the day before. The CA there basically acted like I didn't matter once we were unable to make a deal. I'm glad to have had such a quick an easy experience. Now I get to enjoy my sweet new ride for the next 3 years.

Comment : I usually never write reviews, however, Jeremy Shadburn at Bmw of Encinitas went above and beyond to help me purchase the car of my dreams. Jermey was was so helpful in answering all of my questions. He was spent so much time before our scheduled appointment in communicating with me as he clearly explained all the different options!!! Seriously, Jermey is amazing... I can't say enough good things about him!!!! He truly made this a enjoyable and hassle free car shopping experience. I will go back to him for all my future cars and have already recommended him to my family and friends. Trust me look no further he will not disappoint and call Jermey Shadburn... you'll thank me later ;)
