Comment : I have been using Beck's for many years. I've never been disappointed with the service. They completed the list of repairs I needed done promptly. Everyone is very nice and courteous. I'll be using Beck's for many more years.

First time I use them was mostly fine. I just had a stuck drain bolt on my transmission that any of them to pull. I wasn't able to get it myself and I think they charged me somewhere in the neighborhood of $150. A little high for one bolt, but not bad in the grand scheme of things.

The second time I took a car in, they told me that I needed my brakes replaced and that it would be $2,000. An insane price just for brakes. They said it was because the car was old and rusty, even though the car had been garage kept its entire life. When I went to go do the brakes myself (only $200 in parts) they came apart without any extra force. The supposedly rusty brake drums popped right off.

The third time I asked them to look at a car that was burning oil. I wanted to know where the oil was leaking from, and what I would need to do to repair it. Instead, they spent maybe 30 seconds looking at it before deciding it needed a replacement engine. On top of that, the price they quoted me for the rebuilt engine was $1000 higher than what the dealership wanted to charge me for a brand new one. The cost of just replacing the engine was half the price of buying a brand new one. Looking over their numbers, it seems like they charge double on the labor rate of what should be expected for the job. It was an old vehicle, so obviously I wasn't going to spend half the price of a new one to swap the engine, so they told me I would have to pay their "diagnostic" fee. They charged me an hour of labor to tell me that because it had high mileage and was smoking, that they were just going to recommend the new engine. Didn't run any other tests on it, but somehow it took them an hour to figure that out.

I could excuse their lazy diagnostics if they didn't charge $170 to do it. I could excuse their high diagnostic fees if they came up with reasonable estimates for the work. Unfortunately, they are expensive on both ends. I don't understand how they claim to be the dealership alternative when they are more expensive and less convenient than a dealership.'>

Comment : I've used this shop three times now, and each time has been worse than the last. I'll never use it again. I'd rather use a dealership because I strongly believe they would take better care of me.

Comment : Battery in 21 Toyota rav4 wouldn’t hold a charge & Beck Automotive agreed to check it out on Friday but probably wouldn’t get to it till Monday. I was given a ride back home. Later in the day Becks called saying they were able to replace the battery & would send the courtesy van to bring me to pay & pick up my car
Kudos for great service folks, finishing early & courtesy rides
Thanks for helping this old gal
