Comment : IF YOU ARE READING THIS, PLEASE SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!! AutoStream Hampden saved the day after I popped a tire today. Eric was so kind from the beginning. They didn’t have the right tire in stock so he ordered one to be delivered ASAP, and they even ordered me an Uber to my dentist appointment so I could attend that while they worked on my car. I am so grateful! Thank you Eric and the AutoStream team!

Comment : Dave helped me today. I actually got stuck right by the shop. Went to start my car when I was in the parking lot. Car wouldn’t start. Naturally I went to YouTube and popped the hood, tried to figure it out myself.

Dave came out from the auto shop and asked if I needed help and offered to jump my car. He tried to jump it with a jump kit, no dice.

They had some mechanics come out and take a look. They were able to get it started, but informed me it was my starter.

I had suspicions about my starter prior to this so it was serendipity that I ran into this issue infront of their shop.

This happened around 12:30 PM, they were able to order a part and send me home in a complimentary shuttle. Less than 2 hours later I get the call that my car is good to go and they’ll send a shuttle over.

Ken is the driver, he’s great.

I appreciate the service they provided and answering my various questions in a way I could understand.

The 1,000+ 5-star reviews are well deserved. I moved to Baltimore and am used to a family referred mechanic back home. I’ll be sure to stop here for future needs

Comment : Trustworthy, thorough, and professional. Detailed reports on vehicle condition, and absolutely great customer service. I've had several vehicles worked on by them and I've always been happy with the results.

Comment : My 91 year old mother needed her A/C recharged. This shop ended up charging her $792 dollars. They did not have to perform all the tests etc they listed on the bill. A simple pressure test would have confirmed that she just needed a recharge. I recently had a recharge and it cost me $50 in Florida. They took advantage of her. I am going to contact the BBB and report them.

Recently, I took in my 2022 Subaru for routine maintenance, tire rotation, and oil change. I gave them a list of what I wanted checked and they did a premium car diagnostic that cost about $80. The results of their diagnostics were sent to me in a list of repair items graded by green (good to go), yellow (maybe a problem soon) and red (needs addressing).

I was a bit shocked to find that their red assessed items would require a $4,000+ bill. The repairs suggested seemed unnecessary for a car with less than 40k on it that has received maintenance based on the Subaru maintenance schedule, and exhibited zero issues, weird noises, etc. For example, they recommended new brake pads and rotors ($1400) for rear brake pads that read 5mm (by their report), and some type of engine cleaning for what they say is dirty injectors, despite a picture they took of my motor oil being almost completely clear. There were a few other things they noticed, like a clunk coming from my control arm bushings that doesn't exist at all when I drive.

I declined these repairs and a few others. I have some experience working on my car (simple stuff like brake jobs, replacing suspension parts, oil and transmission fluid changes, etc.), so I feel a bit more comfortable than other customers might when they get a long diagnostic sheet to review.

However, I would suggest that AutoStream spend more time explaining these recommendations to customers, and being upfront in explaining what is *actually needed*. This would certainly help folks who don't have auto mechanical knowledge make a better decision.

For customers bringing their car to AutoStream, I would suggest not agreeing to repairs until you do a bit of research yourself and figure out whether your specific vehicle actually requires the maintenance items that they suggest.'>

Comment : I've had this shop do maintenance and repairs on my cars since they were called Brentwood Automotive. Their customer service is generally good and they have options like online scheduling, after-hours dropoff, and loaner cars. They use OEM parts and they have all the modern equipment needed to fix new cars.
