Comment : Brought my car (a Genesis GV80) in to have the brakes checked and my running boards removed. Service was prompt and I appreciated that they were willing to work on a vehicle that didn't have the Hyundai name. Pricing was fair and honest, I received a "checkup" report on my car's condition, and they even washed it for me! Comment : I've had scheduled maintenance service done here several times in the last few years. But never again. This time, when I brought my Ioniq hybrid in for the 90K service, I was given a $1200 estimate for that, plus $600 in additional services. I was dumbfounded! The 90K service is an oil and filter change, transmission fluid replacement, lube, and multipoint check. I keep the manual on my phone, so I quickly saw that the dealership had added $800 of maintenance not due at 90K (including some already done by the same dealer!) to the 90K list, plus proposed two other additional services ($600) that aren't due for several years. So they tried to add $1400 in unneeded services. After I made the service manager look up the correct schedule for each item -- as I followed along on my phone's copy of the manual -- he scratched off the fake items. He didn't apologize or acknowledge his lies about what the service should actually include. He did weakly try to defend them initially, claiming the area is considered by Hyundai to be a "severe maintenance" zone. But of course the owner's manual very clearly specifies severe conditions and how each affects the scheduled maintenance. Only one condition conceivably applied here: frequent trips of 5 or fewer miles. And that only affects the frequency of oil changes, with no affect on the other work he was trying to pull forward from future years. And remember: the dealer generated this list before seeing my car, so it was not based on unusual issues discovered during their work. Clearly it was $1400 in padded work under the hopes the customer was ignorant. Naturally, when they did do the actual 90K work I did approve ($390), they found two items that needed immediate attention and $500 more. The coolant was allegedly the wrong color (yellow, not green) so they wanted to flush the system. And they wanted to do a wheel alignment because of alleged inner wear on the rear tires. I declined as I do not trust this dealer any longer. I checked the coolant when I got home, and in fact it is green (and clear), not yellow as claimed. And I don't see different wear across the four tires, so I was skeptical about the need for an alignment. I had the alignment checked elsewhere, and the rear alignment was fine -- the "extra" wear in the rear normal for a hybrid due to the heavy battery, which a Hyundai dealer should know (and that's why you rotate tires!). And the coolant was indeed fine. Sad. Just sad!

Comment : We have bought 4 cars from them, and, for a Hyundai, will always go back. They worked hard for us each time to get us the price and payment we wanted and made sure we were completely satisfied before we left...ongoing service after purchase has always been reliable and accommodating, they offer a shuttle if within range, when the car service will take a while. We highly recommend them.

Comment : DO NOT even think about buying a used vehicle at Hyundai of San Luis Obispo. I recently purchased a vehicle there and had transmission problems from the start. When I took the car into the dealership they let me know right away that they ( DO NOT DO A FULL DIAGNOSES OF THEIR VEHICLES ) ONLY A FULL SAFETY CHECK. At that point, I had to pay $200. for a full diagnoses, only to have the service manager confirm the transmission problem. In addition, the service manager ( Jim Bonn ) let me know right away that they were not interested in servicing or repairing the vehicle ( even if I had to pay for the repair ) and handed me off to Coast Nissan for any repairs that needed to be done. Furthermore, when I emailed the owner in reference to the problem I never heard back from him. If they admit they DO NOT DO A FULL DIAGNOSES of their vehicles prior to selling them, they are not very concerned about selling cars that are reliable to our community, and its is our families that suffer the consequence's. I will not deal with Hyundai of San Luis Obispo ever again.

Comment : Terrible place with horrific customer service. I hassled with that place and Hyundai corporate for few months to replace my cracked windshield due to clear manufacturer's defect. But their service manager Jim Bonn was so consistent giving me hard time and convinced hyundai corporate not to cover it under warranty. surprisingly When I took the car to Winn Hyundai in santa Maria it took few seconds to determine it is a manufacturers defect and replaced my windsheild for me within few days at no cost revealing how ugly Hyundai san luis obispo is.

Comment : Jim Bonn was very helpful to my mother-in-law and I when we went in to get the paint fixed that was peeling off of my car. He was able to get it repaired on the parts of the car that had the paint peeling. I got it back looking good as new in a few days from dropping it off. Thanks so much Jim!

Comment : We went to this dealership in search of a good used car. We had already been to several other dealerships on our quest. As we walked the lot they said their used car inventory was small and then asked what we were really looking for. Given our criteria and what our budget Anthony (our sales man) pointed out we could find a new Hyundai that exceeded our expectations. After a test drive, we told them that we were going to continue our quest since we were still investigating. We circled back to look at new cars at the previous dealerships. One sales lady used the "what do I need to do to get you into a car today?" method. We realized Hyundai had the most to offer. size features and warranty. We were very pleased that Hyundai was so confident in their car that they actually suggested we shop around. We ultimately purchased a car that exceeds our expectations, has phenomenal warranty, and will last us a decade. One final note is the finance manager actually soft-pedaled their extended warranty. He reminded us that the car already had a 10 year warranty when we were asking about extended warranties. Our salesman was Anthony and I feel very good recommending him to others.
