One was from the taxi driver. Will be my last time. NOTE: this is a long post. So much occurred here. I want to preface this with the fact that I had a remanufactured engine installed. It has about 50,000 miles on it. I had a misfire on cylinder 5, only at idle. That weekend, I replaced the spark plug, wire, and the coil pack. Still misfired. I took it to Andy's Monday, 8-26 to see when they could fix it. The man said I could leave it with him and they could look at it tomorrow. It was a week and a half - September 3rd, when they finally worked on it. I picked it up on Friday the 4th. Paid 600.00 for the mechanic to tighten down a loose rocker arm.started it up and still had the same problem. I didn't have time then to go back in, so I parked it at Enterprise and continued to drive the rental, which I had had for a week and a half. I felt like my hands were tied since other shops had a long wait time. I went in and told the man that the problem still existed. He said that they drove it and didn't see any misfires. I reiterated that it was only at idle, not at driving speeds. Did they even check it at idle? I asked for a refund, but he balked at that and said "well you've already paid for the repair so... Which essentially was that I wasn't going to get a refund. I did tell him that if it's in the engine that it would be under warranty. He said in a not so friendly tone "well, I don't know anything about that". Which I thought, you don't NEED to know anything about that. I felt a little put off by that. I had an appointment that day at another shop. The mechanic there showed me a distinct tapping noise coming from the number 5 cylinder area. After I was finished there, I went back to Andy's I left the car there, and it wasn't looked at again until next week. This will be week 3. I decided to give them another try. I was told that it was the ignition control module. I told them that it's highly unlikely since that's a new one that I just installed. The ICM wouldn't cause just one cylinder to misfire. He said that it was too hot. I told him that the ICM sits on a metal plate that's attached to the engine. It's going to get hot, about 195 degrees hot. The ICM has a temperature range to up around 250 degrees. I also told him about the tapping noise and did anyone hear it? He said no, which logically, he should have verified that by starting it up. It was almost as if he was trying to avoid acknowledging the noise existed. He came up with the excuse that he didn't know if the car was completely together. He made a couple of other excuses. FRUSTRATING. He asked "what would you like to see happen" I said "I would like to see the problem diagnosed and fixed". He said ok. I went back later, but he had went home. The young woman that was there was more than helpful. I asked if my car had been checked out, she asked the mechanic and the answer was no. This was after I was told by the man that it would be! I called the next morning and told him I was going to take it to another shop. This I believe was about middle of the third week. After they worked to find the problem for awhile, they said they would have to go into the engine to find out what the problem is.At this point, I had to give back the rental. I couldn't keep bleeding money!Bottom line: I want a refund! I told them I put on coilovers and lowered my car. They set up an appointment for me and when I showed up they told me they couldn’t do it because my car was too low. They didn’t check clearance. It seems like they just didn’t want the business. I've been a customer for several years but after today, I think it's time to find a new place for my car needs.'> Reviewed : 07/21/2025 Comment : I made an appointment 6 days ago (July 16th) for an oil change and tire rotation. They gave me July 21st at 1 pm. I was there on time, told the guy I had an appointment and he asked for my key. I waited in the waiting room for 1 hour and 10 minutes and realized that they hadn't even moved my car yet. I asked the lady why and she said "oh, they must have had a rollover." LAME EXCUSE. There were quite a few mechanics and only a few cars getting worked on. Funny thing though, ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY HAD SOMEONE READY TO TAKE MY CAR IN. Now HOW about that!! Amazing how that works. I wonder how much longer if I hadn't said anything. I told the girl never mind and she gave me my key back and pointed across the highway at the Jiffy Lube or whatever it is now and said something to the effect of "you can take it to one of those dinky places."Sorry Andy's.
