I spoke with Ed, who was great to work with and very accommodating. When I got the call that my vehicle was ready, I was told they couldn’t perform the transmission fluid drain and replacement because they didn’t have the proper adapter and could only do it if it were a 2000s Chevy, stating that the Honda adapter was “weird” and could only be performed at a Honda dealership. When I arrived to pick it up, Sara gave me a completely different explanation, saying she refused to allow the team to do the transmission fluid because she’s had a bad personal experience changing transmission fluid, and that my car would likely develop issues since it hadn’t been done before at 55k miles. I reiterated that I did not want the transmission flushed, but only drained and refilled per Honda’s suggestion. My CR-V has sensors that notify when maintenance is due, so the service recommendation didn’t come from me guessing. It came from the vehicle itself. I left not knowing whether the service wasn’t performed due to missing equipment or simply because they refused it out of caution. Either way, the mixed communication made it hard to feel confident about the situation.Edit 11/5/2025: I spoke with Rex and he helped to clear up some confusion on the requested services versus what was understood from the team. He offered to make things right. I appreciate the efforts the team makes to ensure things are right with their customers. Once the drain and refill is completed I’ll be sure to update the review with results.Edit 11/11/25: Moving the review from 3 stars to 1 star. After my last conversation with Rex, he asked me to bring my car back so it could be made a “priority” on 11/10/2025. I dropped it off Sunday evening (11/9/25) so it’d be ready first thing Monday. After hearing nothing all day on 11/10/25, I called around 5:30pm for an update and was told they hadn’t gotten to it yet but that it would be first in line the next morning, despite Rex assuring me it would be completed by end of day Monday.I ended up without a vehicle all day Tuesday, 11/11/25. When I called again around 3:45pm, I was told they still hadn’t started but expected it done by closing. I ended up picking my vehicle up with no work performed and will be taking it elsewhere. What frustrates me isn’t just that the promised work wasn’t done, it’s the complete lack of communication. Both times, I had to call for updates. Andy’s used to be my go-to shop for anything automotive, but over the past year the service quality has steadily declined, and this experience sealed it for me that I cannot in good faith return for any future services. 1 Reviews Betty hartzell Alton, IL Reviewed : 11/07/2025 Comment : 1 Reviews Rachel wineinger Alton, IL Reviewed : 10/28/2025 Comment : They were incredibly friendly and helpful. Will be my last time. NOTE: this is a long post. So much occurred here. I want to preface this with the fact that I had a remanufactured engine installed. It has about 50,000 miles on it. I had a misfire on cylinder 5, only at idle. That weekend, I replaced the spark plug, wire, and the coil pack. Still misfired. I took it to Andy's Monday, 8-26 to see when they could fix it. The man said I could leave it with him and they could look at it tomorrow. It was a week and a half - September 3rd, when they finally worked on it. I picked it up on Friday the 4th. Paid 600.00 for the mechanic to tighten down a loose rocker arm.started it up and still had the same problem. I didn't have time then to go back in, so I parked it at Enterprise and continued to drive the rental, which I had had for a week and a half. I felt like my hands were tied since other shops had a long wait time. I went in and told the man that the problem still existed. He said that they drove it and didn't see any misfires. I reiterated that it was only at idle, not at driving speeds. Did they even check it at idle? I asked for a refund, but he balked at that and said "well you've already paid for the repair so... Which essentially was that I wasn't going to get a refund. I did tell him that if it's in the engine that it would be under warranty. He said in a not so friendly tone "well, I don't know anything about that". Which I thought, you don't NEED to know anything about that. I felt a little put off by that. I had an appointment that day at another shop. The mechanic there showed me a distinct tapping noise coming from the number 5 cylinder area. After I was finished there, I went back to Andy's I left the car there, and it wasn't looked at again until next week. This will be week 3. I decided to give them another try. I was told that it was the ignition control module. I told them that it's highly unlikely since that's a new one that I just installed. The ICM wouldn't cause just one cylinder to misfire. He said that it was too hot. I told him that the ICM sits on a metal plate that's attached to the engine. It's going to get hot, about 195 degrees hot. The ICM has a temperature range to up around 250 degrees. I also told him about the tapping noise and did anyone hear it? He said no, which logically, he should have verified that by starting it up. It was almost as if he was trying to avoid acknowledging the noise existed. He came up with the excuse that he didn't know if the car was completely together. He made a couple of other excuses. FRUSTRATING. He asked "what would you like to see happen" I said "I would like to see the problem diagnosed and fixed". He said ok. I went back later, but he had went home. The young woman that was there was more than helpful. I asked if my car had been checked out, she asked the mechanic and the answer was no. This was after I was told by the man that it would be! I called the next morning and told him I was going to take it to another shop. This I believe was about middle of the third week. After they worked to find the problem for awhile, they said they would have to go into the engine to find out what the problem is.At this point, I had to give back the rental.
