I've been involved with heavy truck maintenance most of my life and one thing I've learned and done for well over 50 years is always retorque the wheel lug nuts/bolts after the wheels have been reinstalled. There is a caution in your repair report calling for this and it is very important. Unless they were grossly over torqued in the first place, also bad, it is common for the left side to loosen in the first 50 miles or so. As you do, call for folks to retorque. 1 Reviews Ken petre Columbia, MO Reviewed : 05/06/2025 Comment : I recently had my car in for a rough idle. I was informed by the shop that my mass air flow sensor was bad and was told it was running fine after they replaced it. Picked up my car and it did seem to run a little better, but the rough idle was still there. They had me bring my car back and preceeded to check it out , but never could come to a conclusion of why the car was running rough. They told me there was nothing more they could do and it was probably the cars main computer. I asked if they checked the fuel system and was told they did. In my frustration I began my own process of elimination, and discovered the filter on the fuel pump was blocked with rust and debris , I changed that and the fuel filter and guess what the car runs great again. So I came to the conclusion maybe they did help with the overpriced mass airflow sensor, but they spent several days looking at everything but the simplest things that I was assured was checked. I am on the fence about how to review this place as they are courteous and did spend time on the car after the initial repair and did not charge me. But left me wondering how this simple fix got past them. 1 Reviews Suzanne opperman, aprn, pmhnp, cadc Columbia, MO Reviewed : 05/04/2025 Comment : I Can always depend on Allstar staff to be sure all that only what needs to be done to keep my truck up and going for the long run! Thank you 1 Reviews Lacy clark Columbia, MO Reviewed : 05/01/2025 Comment : Unfortunately, I have to give All Star Automotive one star. I say “unfortunately” because I really appreciated being able to make an appointment easily, and the customer service was friendly and professional. That said, I won’t be returning.I brought my car in for a state inspection and was told it failed for a long list of issues—over $2,500 worth of repairs. I was also told that I’d need to get an oil change unless I could provide proof of a recent one, which I’ve never heard of as a requirement for inspection. That immediately raised a red flag for me.The quote they gave me for parts and labor seemed extremely high, so I got a second opinion. The second repair shop found that only half the repairs All Star listed were actually necessary, and for the repairs that both shops agreed on, the price was half what All Star quoted. All in, the second shop charged me $680.I don’t mind paying for legitimate repairs—I care about keeping my car safe for myself, and others. But I do mind feeling like I’m being overcharged or upsold on work that may not even be needed. Unfortunately, that was my experience. 1 Reviews Terrence luther Columbia, MO Reviewed : 04/30/2025 Comment : During my visit, I was treated with extreme rudeness and unprofessionalism by Joel who repeatedly interrupted me, refused to listen, and dismissed my concerns. Both my wife and I felt disrespected during the entire interaction. 1 Reviews Sally nusbaum Columbia, MO Reviewed : 04/22/2025 Comment : 1 Reviews Jeremy freese Columbia, MO Reviewed : 04/21/2025 Comment : Got my car towed here by chance. They got me in the same day and communicated clearly what the problems were. I never felt like I was being pressured to buy anything. By luck, we wound up at All Star. They let us take over their waiting room and use their restroom 14 times. They were very kind and helpful. Their shuttle driver helped me unload 4 car seats and 4 suitcases and various other random shoes and blankets. But more than anything they went out of their way to get a transmission for me to get my van done and back to me in 2 days!! I d say that s going above & beyond! I m super grateful. Highly recommend! We (my 4 kids & I ) were driving from NC to KS when my van drops it s transmission in Columbia, MO. By luck, we wound up at All Star.
