I had an accident with my travel trailer (front axle and scissors jack damage) on June 27th, travelling home to PA from NC. The tow company said they were taking it to a place "that could fix it", but didn't tell me that it was their sister business. In July, I was told that they were still trying to figure out whether they could fix it, but thought it should just be totalled because they said the frame was bent. The frame isn't bent, the shackle is twisted a little where it meets the frame. The insurance adjuster insisted it could be fixed. As of the first week of August, I hadn't heard anything from the shop, so I called to check the status of the repair. The guy I was working with prior (Ken) had quit his job and gotten another one, and the new guy (Andy) was not up to speed on my RV. He said they had told the insurance adjuster the day before that they were unable to fix it. He also said that there was a bill of $218 for them to look at it, and was making noises about storage fees. $218 for looking at it doesn't equate to keeping my camper for 7 weeks. So now I had to get it out of there and find someone who could fix it. The adjuster (Progressive Insurance) sent the shop a screen shot of where he had processed the invoice, but they would not release the RV until they had the check in their hot little hands. The RV was finally released on September 19th, but the shop told the tow company that it could be towed on the rear axle alone (it has 2 axles), so I am now concerned that their bad advice has compromised the rear axle, and am not comfortable that it will be highway worthy now. DO NOT use these people - they were not forthcoming in their dealings with me, and just viewed me as a source for making a quick buck.Service: Car towing
