Comment : All you need from a mechanic is honesty. I dropped off my car for only a diagnostic check, was told it would take 2 hours, wound up waiting until the next day, called at 10 am, and then was told that they weren't willing to work on my specific issue. I asked what the problem exactly was and got a vague answer that mentioned an incorrect type of system that my car doesn't have. I flat out asked if they actually did the diagnostic, and they swore that they took my car into a bay and checked it. When I went to pick my car up, I found it parked exactly as I left it, parked face front at a slightly odd angle with the nose a little too out front. Everything I left inside that would have moved if the car was moved was as is. They never touched it. Now, I don't mind if a shop is busy, but don't make an asshole out of me making me wait a day and a half for something you never even did. Comment : Needed a complete rebuild of my transmission. Went to 2 different dealerships and both gave me different answers of what MIGHT be the fix. Brought my car to AAMCO and got immediate answers. Would not have trusted anyone else to do this rebuild! They were professional and got the job done correctly.
