My car died over the holiday and I had to have my car towed. I had to tow it here because I have a limited distance I could tow it. It was a holiday so I called them Saturday morning and they said they could get it in. I said what happened to the car and that I was told the alternator was the issue. It was still under warranty both mileage and years wise. They said they would look at it and I also asked for an oil change. They called me back and said it was the battery. That the alternator tested fine. I had just replaced the battery a week ago. They gave me the battery readings for that battery, I replaced it because I didn't have any other choice. Two days later the car died again and I had to call for roadside again and took it to a different AAA, eventually they called me back and said it was the alternator and replaced it under the warranty. This was an inconvenience and it was totally unacceptable. They just wanted to sell me a battery I didn't need, cost me time and money, because to call roadside again and wait, and then I had to get a rental while my car was being looked at, something I shouldn't have had to do. I took my Vehicle Here March 5th. Due to my check engine light being on and 2 services messages. I have 2017 Equinox as I have heard these are not best SUVs but I like them and it gets me to work and get my daughter to school. I was quoted 2787 or so for Fuel System Service, (clogged Fuel system), Throttle body, 4 Fuel Injectors, and Oxygen sensor. I was given a Discount rate 2387 much appreciated. Nevertheless, I explained that this is my primary vehicle I really did not have 2Gs to give at all was told there was nothing else they could do regarding price and they didn t do payment plans. Hoping to have my vehicle fixed and ready to go. I paid $1000 before getting any work done due to being told I need to pay the full amount in order for my car to be started on due to several other vehicle needing assistance. They informed me my Chevy would be ready Wednesday, March 12th on Thursday or Friday March 6-7th. I started a Go Fund me and reached out to friends & family etc to help pay the remaining 1387. I appreciate those who could help. I know it s struggle for us all out here. I ended up having to use most my check around still. Therefore leaving me with nothing for other bills but it was cool I know how to hustle and work. Expecting to have my Car back soon. I call ready to pay and retrieve my car they stated. I now need a high pressure fuel pump charging me another $685-700 so at this point. I started making phone calls to get my vehicle towed somewhere else due to being told it wasn t drivable. When in-fact I was able to drive it to the other shop and was told they were not able to get the fuel service done due to needing a fuel pump. The code immediately popped about Fuel Injector 1 and Engine misfiring. So now I am still paying for Labor and more parts for new repairs and repairs done incorrectly and poorly handled at Bob Sumerel Pleasant Ridge Triple AAA. I called today Friday March 14th to address my concerns still waiting on a call back. March 20th Update from my 1 star review they was able to get me back on the road and address my concerns but still be careful be sure to ask questions and ensure communication expectations are being met.Long Review Alert: Feeling very hurt and unsettled. He got me in when I needed a tire repair first thing in the morning amidst a busy week. Had great jokes and laughs at 7:30 in the morning and walked out in 30 minutes with a patched tire and a lighter heart. At fist the customer service was great, but when they took my car back to check it out all of that changed. The mechanic with the glasses was extremely rude and tried to sell me a $300 battery that my car did not need. They gave me a false diagnosis saying that one of the terminals in my battery was bad and that I would have replace it in order for them to work on anything else on the car.I ended up taking is to Midas and they told me that there was nothing wrong with the battery itself and they were able to check the rest of the car with no problem. The batter was just drained from me leaving a light on and it just needed a boost. Showed me proof of this as well. And he also informed me that this triple A location has a history of scamming people and selling them products they don???t need. I???m also a triple A member which make this worse.Terrible service from these guys! At fist the customer service was great, but when they took my car back to check it out all of that changed. They all are very detailed in explaining stuff to me and as s female I didnt feel like I was being taken advantage of. Ive dealt with Asst mgr Mike in the past. Very informative. But my recent visit involved Mgr David, Bryan cashier/tech and Mike an automotive technician that worked on my car. They all went over and beyond. What was suppose to be an oil change turned into an alignment, 4 new tires and wheel bearing being fixed. I cant thank Mike the technician enough because he was already working on another car and he could have just sent me on my way without letting me know there were issues. David, Bryan and Mike the tech were very informative, patient, honest. Because deep down i knew i had problems i just didn't want to admit it. They made sure I drove off the lot safely.
