Not surprised. received the vehicle 5 days later and it was worse than when we took it in. terrible. More upsetting was the print out of what they did to our vehicle was for a different customer with their name, phone number, address, vehicle vin #, all the information right, handed right to us. beside their check in station was a waste paper basket with invoices right there. Information in sight. While speaking with an agent the other agent was calling customers alternating between canceling appointment, letting them know their car was not ready and then shockingly TAKIMG CALLS AND MAKING APPOINTMENTS for new clients. The alternator they put in was defective after about a week. I had it replaced at my usual mechanic because they are reliable and fast. My mechanic said it was just a defective part and that there weren't any issues with the installation. They tested the part and provided me with the test strips showing that the alternator wasn't charging. I went back to AAA to ask about getting a refund for the part. I did everything as they requested at that point. I took my car in with the paperwork from my mechanic and the defective alternator. I gave the part to Michael at AAA because he said they would try to get a credit for it from the manufacturer. He made copies of my paperwork and said they would contact me. It has been a month now without any update. When trying to call this shop I consistently have to wait on hold for over twenty minutes until I eventually lose patience and give up. Today I have tried to call twice and have been on hold for over 40 minutes collectively. About two weeks ago, I managed to get connected with another employee, Ryan, who took my information and told me that they would call me back. They never called back. Prior to that day I tried to call and use the automated waitlist for a call back. Later on, their number came up on my phone for only a split second but not long enough for me to answer it. When I redialed, I was again placed on hold. I don't have a claim number or an estimate on how long I should wait before getting an answer. I'm trying to be patient about this, and I'm prepared to wait as long as it takes, but none of this is professional or organized. I wouldn't be as frustrated if they told me that I couldn't get a refund because at least that would be an answer. However, since Michael said they would be trying to get a credit for the part it seems like there is a possibility that they are getting a credit for a part that I paid for while I get nothing. If possible, I would like the part back so I can try to get a refund from the manufacturer. I don't understand how a company of this size does not have a better process for this and easier ways to contact customer service. The numbers listed for the different departments on the AAA website are not accurate and the "email us" button links to an FAQ page with no option to actually contact someone as far as I can tell. I have never written a review and would have rather just spoken with someone from the shop, but there is no easy way to do that, as I described. If you're in Grandview, it's worth paying a little more at Tom and Jerry or one of the other shops in the area. Maybe AAA is just understaffed and has more work than they can handle. I called everyday and they continuously said they should get to it soon. Finally got fed up and towed my car to another shop. They messaged me towards the end of day 1 saying they were dealing with many tow ins and couldn't get to my car and would be finished the next day. I call around 3pm day 2 and they hadn't even touched it yet and had no idea why it was even there. Miscommunication, but never attempted to contact me to ask.... But they would now get on it and it'd be ready for me at closing. Free oil change next time for inconvenience.. When I finally went to get in my car I was repulsed to find grease and whatever else smeared all over the inside of my light grey interior. Absolutely disgusted with their service I complained to the one person left there for the day but she only offered that I bring it back for them to clean the next day... Never brought me any paper towels to sit on, nothing. I was was still trying to clean up what I could when she left. She wouldn't even look at me on her way out as she pulled out of the parking spot next to me. And pretty sure they didn't fix my brakes. Charged me for the job but didn't do a thing with them... Went into the store, got my photo taken for the IDP, speedy process and very friendly person helping me. Store was clean and big, lots of maps and information for general travel as well.
